People like this can be a cancer on the program. If what you say is true, LA Tech needs to gut him out of there.

Everyone (esp Greeks) know Sam speed is a joke. I don’t even understand why he has kept his job. I guess he enjoys it. Square peg in round hole is accurate

As a former alumni this shouldn't happen. Greeks are now tailgating at their houses and in return will have to walk 1/2 mile away to come

B) By definition, an alumnus is a graduate or former student; therefore, one cannot be a "former" alumnus.

Packed today on east side student side-- west side looked thinner ( unfair comparison to NSU and MSU) -- more on East than west in fourth period . Really having problem understanding this thread-- don't people still park and walk from Ruston HS?

I park and walk from Ruston High. It's not a bad walk. Heck, I walked from Ruston High four days after knee surgery for the Mississippi State game.

Folks I know and respect thing very highly is Sam Speed. My interactions with him have been minimal. I have heard Greeks complain about him, but rarely anything specific...at least not to me.

Of course, we still don't know exactly what took place...much less whether or not Sam had anything to do with it.

We know what had been a great atmosphere in the park was non-existent yesterday. We know that student attendance was off from past games yesterday. We know most of the ones who attended left at the half.

Student attendance had little to nothing to do with that. Overall it looked just fine, about typical, to me. What are you comparing it to? Those who left at half usually leave at half anyway. I never count on the greeks to stay long.

No it was off a bunch compared to most any home game with school in session. Mose of what you saw yesterday was Time Out for Tech students. Most of them left at half which has been the norm over the years. The student attendance and leaving early has gone down and risen in direct correlation with our AD being in charge of the game day experience.

You think Sam called the ATF cause he hates Greeks so much?

We know Sam has been in his position for a long time...the entire time that there has been a great atmosphere in hideaway park.

So, given what we know and some possibly biased feelings about Sam, I think we can put it all together:

1. Sam develops great Greek tradition in Hideaway.
2. Once he has the Greeks right where he wants them (all happy and stuff), he decides to piss them off just because he's that kind of guy.
3. This is just step one in his evil plan to rid Tech of all the Greek life except his pet Frat.

What a shame his evil genius set on the shelf for decades just waiting for the perfect time! He could've been stealing so much more joy had he worked harder these past 20+ years.
