UAB could be in for a horrible crash in the coming seasons though, How many JUCO's did they recruit? Did I hear 30? is that possible?
We are running a slower offense now, anyone know how many plays per game we are getting off? I realize slowing down gives our defense time to rest, but we seem to do better in hurry up, plus statistically(if you are getting more first downs) more opportunities to score.
WE just lost to a team that just started playing football again. Holtz should be fired tomorrow morning. We will go to a bowl because our conference is that weak and beat a Sun Belt team and declare success winning 4 bowls in a row against bad teams.
What did you see today that leads you to believe we could beat a Sunbelt team?
We already beat a Sun Belt team, silly.
But to answer: nothing but the defense. Its good enough***
Today, penalties killed. Special teams killed. Unproductive offense killed. Offense got in position to win and then decision making killed.
That team is 1-4, and we struggled to beat them at home. That's my point.
Yep... Its pretty disappointing.
COYHCSH set the tone for this game in the first two series with the stupid scripted plays...facing a five man front he ran the ball on 1st down for no gain both times which led to two 3 and outs. Our defense needs our offense to play football, not do stupid scripted stuff.
If at first you don't succeed, sign a 3 year contract extension.
We have some talent at this point, what the hell we are trying to do with it, I don't know. Like I said before, no leadership on or off field, no respect, no discipline, no chemistry!
TALENT cannot overcome all of that, it is the coaches job to make that happen, a lot of this is on the coaches.
I may need a new picture.
The next milestones our program needs are:
1. Conference Championship. A real one, not a divisional. Still technically possible, I guess, but Holtz can't win the game, so whatever.
2. Double-digit win season. This one is off the table, and we will NEVER get it with Holtz.
3. Beat a high-profile team. Lol.
We have 2 games left that I feel we have a better than average chance of winning, Rice and UTEP. Southern Miss is going to beat us worse this year than the last two years. North Texas is a loss. FAU and UTSA are toss ups. In a year that a lot of people had hopes for 10 wins, we will probably win 6.
