79 teams will be qualified at close of play tonight.
Teams that can still make it next week:
Florida State must win at home vs ULM
New Mexico State must win at home vs South Alabama
ULL must win at Appalachian State
Is the Frisco Bowl in play at all? I've heard about the secondary tie-in with the Indy Bowl, but I haven't heard anyone mention the Frisco Bowl in its initial year.
Just noticed there is a brand new bowl in Frisco TX this year. The DXL bowl makes it's inaugural appearance on Dec 20th. ACC team I believe vs ????. Played at Toyota Stadium. Would like to see Tech get this over Indy Bowl, for selfish reasons.
In the last C-USA Handbook I have seen posted from 3 years ago, "winning teams" and "non-winning teams" is the exact wording in the bowl placement section. So the conference has 7 "winning" and 3 "non-winning" eligible teams.
If 81 teams end up qualifying, I think the three eligible teams left out will be two from C-USA and one from the MAC.
AAC vs MAC is the contracted matchup. Depends on which bid the AAC leaves open when it gets the Access spot.

So 79 qualified teams for 78 spots. At least one school stays at home with a total of 4 staying home possible.
Florida State will be a heavy favorite over ULM.
New Mexico State will be a favorite at home over a South Alabama program that appears to be in disarray.
The Cajuns will be an underdog on the road in Boone against App. State.
