With hunting season here, this game cost us a good chunk of attendance.

USM will get a decent drawing, but if that is another choke festival of the last two years variety you can write off the last three games.

    Empty stands.

But on the positive side at least we won't have to worry about the parking lot being full.

Except that a conference championship game is considered as an extension of the regular season and not as a postseason game.

Can still finish the regular season 10-3, but 6-6 is more likely without drastic improvement.

15K for what should be 20K. Our AD will announce 20K anyway. Those staying home will be counted anyway (season ticket holders).

Don't confuse johnnylightnin with the facts. Afterall, they are a pesky thing.

Re: What did yesterday cost us?

What did it cost? I think calculating the cost has became much more complex than ever, There are a lot of moving parts now.
Certainly it cost us reputation wise in public perception and attendance, I would think there are a lot more people looking at Skip and the university with concerns we are not accustomed to. We have new hotels and eating establishments in town that benefit from the extra games such as a conference championship and a true 20,000+ in attendance to those games. The Universities pride is one thing, but undoubtedly someone is going to put a pencil to this, damn the pride, look at the lost revenues.
The Mayor seems to have made real strides in improving the relationship between the City, citizens, and university, but that street runs two ways. Investors and owners around the City benefit from a good football team, especially if they are exciting to watch, it brings in fans and keeps students in town.

A losing team equals lost revenues for the University and and the City and its many business owners and investors, there are more people vested in this than in years and coaches past. We have gotten more support, but we created more mouths to feed and appease also, expect some noise if we keep putting this mediocre road show on the field.

Pocketbooks will begin speaking at some point!

All great points. You would think a financial planner --like johnnylightning-- would consider looking at this from a financial perspective.

A lot more people than just the players and coaches have a significant investment in this. As you said, "damn the pride.....look at the lost revenues".

Re: What did yesterday cost us?

I will say this.. Amik Robertson is already probably my favorite player since I’ve followed tech. We have had fiery guys that always make plays in the past. Trent. Quinn Harris. Livas. Broha. Sokol. Adrien Cole. That’s off the top of my head and I know there have been so many others.

Amik is such a good corner. He’s 19 years old. He plays the position with precision. I can go on and on about how good he is. The only thing I see him struggle with at times is swings/screens to his side and getting off the block, but that’s only occasionally and he’s always in the play even if he’s blocked.

He is a pure football player. I want to see him returning kicks and if it’s a promising return situation, punts.

Amik, Dugas, and Boston Scott are the best players on this team and damn have we missed Bonnette since he went down.

Amik will play in the NFL if he keeps working hard. He was born to cover man to man. Even the uncoverable slants in man he is right there ripping away-all over the receiver’s back-and making the tackle at the same time.

That pesky fact is an optimistic one! Ha!

We don't know what it will cost. We can make doomsday predictions about hotels and hotdog sales and El Ay Tech hats, but that's all speculation...stock picker stuff...Ms. Cleo...snake oil sales.

Knee jerk reactions to just about anything are by and large I'll-advised.

So, sell low if you want.

Such negativity! Hey, take a week off, forget about Tech football for awhile, and then get ready to get renewed energy!

Go Bulldogs, we lost a lot of offense to draft, and the rest will of the conference is better, we hopefully will be health and finish strong. I am more concerned with FAU (who may win the East this year). We have backs to the wall hope to finish strong.

If you EVER do you are nuts! We tend to yank defeat from the jaws of victory with great precision. I love rollercoasters, but TECH athletics is not a rollercoaster I enjoy. This loss was extremely disappointing!
