I don't think the stats fully back this up, but I feel historically that we have always struggled in the game coming off our bye week. This will definitely hurt going against USM. I do expect attendance numbers to be down. Curious as to what number of butts in seats will be.

East side will probably be about the same as USA since we'll have some USM fans to make up for the quitters.

The most important thing regarding our near and distant future attendance is how student turnout will be. Will our admin reach out to our students in an attempt to get them back?

It took a while, but i think CUSA finally sucked the life out of us.
That's interesting. I would have thought USM would be pretty excited. I haven't watched any games but my interactions with Eagle fans are generally positive, as opposed to Tech fans who have generally resigned themselves.

USM has some smart football supporters, just like Tech does. We might be 4-2, but watching a continued lack of fundamental coaching, many USM fans are concerned. Being 4-2 is nice as our program continues to recover from a 4-32 stretch. Monken had the program on a fast track recovery like Littrell seems to have UNT on. We saw smart coaching and the ability of our coaches to make adjustments during the game. This staff apparently struggles with game time adjustments. We continually make the same mistakes. Lack of discipline being one of them. The UTSA game gave us hope as we did look better but we also know if a wide open UTSA receiver hadn't dropped a sure td pass towards the end of the game, we would have lost again after not making the adjustment to stop receivers from getting wide open.

In short, we are 4-2, but the educated USM fan struggles to accept the level of play we are showing. The second half of the UNT game looked like our coaches had mailed it in for the second half after taking a 21-7 lead into halftime. I think Tech fans seem to be experiencing the same type of season. This is a huge game for both schools. Hopefully it will be some great football played between two proud programs.

    Seriously?

UTSA, #48 yds per game (highest ranking on Offense)
Kentucky 134th pts per game (highest ranking on offense)

Ok UNT's doing ok but the one team that has a pulse on Defense, Iowa, shut them down.

    - Kentucky is 5-1 and averaging 27.5 pts per game. It's only loss was 28-27 to Florida, on its final drive.
    - UNT is 4-2 and averaging 37.2 pts per game. UNT has beaten UTSA and USM.
    - UTSA is 3-2 and averaging 33.4 pts per game. UTSA's only losses were to UNT & USM, arguably the 2 best teams in the west.

I would say all three of those schools qualify as "pretty darn good offenses". Good enough to make 'em 12-5 as a group. That's a 70.6% avg win rate.

Re: USM's Top 25 Defense Nationally

Who cares what others have done against USM's defense? It is all irrelevant. Our offense is anemic. We don't have a QB, there is no leadership. No one else is stepping up to be a leader. Our coaches are clueless too.

We will be fortunate to break 20. The only chance Tech has, as a team, to win this game is for our other units to carry the day: defense and special teams. As for the latter, I just hope they do their jobs and not hurt us. Ya know, make PATs, not allow huge kick returns, etc... that leaves our defense. They have been playing well enough to give us a chance to win this game. But, they will have to score a TD and force a couple of turnovers to set up our weak offense.

The offense can help, much like special teams, by simply NOT hurting us. Like not committing turnovers. If our O commits turnovers, even just a couple, this game will get away from us quick.
