Vegas has us losing!
Vegas had us beating UAB too!
At some point this team needs to get FIRED UP! This would be as good of game as any!

Not sure what you mean by "Vegas has us losing." We are favored by 2.5 right now. (Not that I think that means anything.)

Yeah, the whole press conference was Skip Holtz praising USM for how great they are.

Skip is sounding a lot like JB III, he always praises the other team and builds them up to be much more talented and all around better team than Tech, in an indirect way.
Not every team has really put it together this year, using better schemes, have more experience, etc.

Skip, I know it is not your personality to do so but for once, be like Pat Hill, Pederson, Dooley, tell folks you plan on defending your house and you fully intend on beating your opposition!

**Although Southern Miss has a significant lead in the series, the teams have each won two matchups since Louisiana Tech began playing in Conference USA in 2013.
**In the last meeting in Ruston, Southern Miss notched a 58-24 triumph to win a West Division showdown game. Ito Smith scored three touchdowns in 45 seconds to help pull away in the game.
**Southern Miss senior RB Ito Smith ran for his fourth-straight 100-yard rushing game against UTEP to give him 20 for his career, finishing with 120 yards on 28 carries. He registered his fifth-straight game with a touchdown as he tallied a pair of running scores – both in the second half – from 2 and 20 yards out. He now has 36 career rushing touchdowns, which ranks third on the Golden Eagle career charts.
**Southern Miss registered its second shutout of the year and third over the first 19 games under head coach Jay Hopson. The Golden Eagles recorded their first two shutouts in the same season since blanking Army (24-0) and Louisiana-Lafayette (48-0) during the 1999 campaign. It also marked the first shutout for the Golden Eagles of a C-USA opponent since defeating UAB, 3-0 on Sept. 29, 2001, and the fifth blanking of a league foe since dating back to the inaugural season of 1996.
**The Golden Eagles limited UTEP to 147 total yards, including just 17 yards rushing. It was the second time this season Southern Miss held an opponent to under 150 yards and third time under defensive coordinator Tony Pecoraro. The Golden Eagles have held their foe to less than 100 rushing yards six times since the start of the 2016 campaign and under 20 yards three times. The UTEP game was the second time this season that the defense did not let its opponent reach the red zone.
**Golden Eagles Freshman Jaylond Adams notched his first career 100-yard receiving game as he caught a pair of 52-yard passes, including one for the game’s first points. It was the fourth 100-yard receiving contest for a Southern Miss player this season.
**Louisiana Tech sophomore QB J’Mar Smith is third in C-USA in passing yards per game, averaging 254.8 yards per game. In his last two games he has five touchdown passes with no interceptions.
**Junior WR Teddy Veal has emerged as LA Tech’s top pass catcher this season. He has led the Bulldogs in receptions in each of the last four games and has caught a touchdown pass in three straight games. On the year, he has 36 catches for 409 yards, placing him fourth in C-USA in receiving yards per game at 68.2.
**Bulldogs junior DE Jaylon Ferguson had a sack in LA Tech’s last outing (at UAB on Oct. 7) to give him 4.0 on the season and 24.5 in 32 career games.

Lou Holtz was the master...my personal favorite. Lou's highly ranked Irish were about to square off with a ranked Navy team....oh, scratch that, even when Navy is ranked, they really ain't. Anyway, Navy was good and Lou said before the game "we'll have to get lucky to win this game." Notre Dame beat Navy 59-7. A reporter, not wanting to let Lou Holtz get away with his pre-game comment asks in a persnickety way, "Coach you said Notre Dame would have to get lucky to beat Navy today. Well...." Lou pauses and then says with that lisp, "Okay, we got very lucky."
