This is going to be a great improvement. Also, we can do more with pregame by turning the lights out. We no longer have to wait for the bulbs to warm up when the lights come back on.

Another reason we are NOT ulm or Northwestern St...

We don't expect the state to pay for it -

I imagine Geo-Surface will win the bid. They recently did surfaces for the Love and Softball. We also used them for the new lighting for the football stadium.

Geo-Surfaces recently did Southeastern Louisiana, it looks good and it can run effects.

Let’s hope the bleachers in the TAC are brighter than the bleachers in EE on the west side of the Joe.

Yeah. It appears Tech value engineered the LED lighting at Aillet Stadium. West side upper level is dark after sun goes down because the press box blocks the lights. We haven't done any lighting effects since installing the new lights, and they are all clustered on light poles like before instead of being spread out for cool effects like I've seen at other stadiums.

But this is good news. It should greatly enhance pregame to create a better atmosphere at the TAC if done right.

The performers are clearly seen, the audience faded into the shadows. If you're not happy, speak to our Director of Stadium Lighting and Fan Gripes department.

LED lights in the TAC will be a great improvement! That we can all agree on.
You need a more knowledgeable source. Press box shadow is clear as day. That's not how it should be. Tech went cheap with the lighting, and now we have several sections located in a shadow.

I can't say we went cheap, I think it might be a light placement issue.

If you look on the west side, all 4 poles are up against the stadium (also with no obstruction to the light). On the east, you have two that are close to the stadium and the other set are behind the pressbox. Maybe we should of mounted the lights on top of the pressbox.

The rendering had them look like below.

We definitely went cheap placing the lights on those 4 poles. Value engineering at its finest to save a couple nickels. Why else would they have done that when the light placement on the renderings looked so much better and allowed for cool effects? You can't really do any fun lighting effects with those 4 poles. Other colleges and professional venues space out their lighting like in our rendering to do fun lighting effects in different situations. We just stuck all our lights on 4 poles just like we had them before to save a couple bucks.

The Superdome is like that since they installed LED lights. The field is lit up but the crowd isn't. It's especially dark under overhangs.

For our NOLA Bowl I sat in the middle level under the upper overhang and didn't notice any darkness. I've never experienced darkness at a game before like I have at JAS this year.

Very nice overhead view of the Joe. Tried to find the handicapped and senior citizen parking spaces but failed.
