I suppose that comes from not having confidence your offense can hold onto the ball. The coach was playing not to lose when he really had almost nothing to lose by trying to run a couple of plays.

You expect him to coach AND keep up with the clock?

He was already thinking about how deep we would kick it to open the 2nd half.

He was up 14 he felt no need to score more points -

Double digit is the key with Skip, he gets conservative once he reaches that point differential

And like somebody on here stated, "Where are the fun trick plays for the players and fans?".
SH could easily pull these off as nobody thinks he will call any.

    Re: Week 9: @Rice (10/28)

Fun trick plays and coaching to win, mean you could turn the ball over. Turnovers bad, not losing good (in best SH voice). So instead we have taken a team that while not great should be 7-1 going into the toughest part of our conference slate (who would have thought that based off of recent history with UNT, FAU, UTSA, etc.), and coached it into a 4-4 record.

It seems after a while almost everywhere he has been he gets figured out. All those ECU fans, and a few of you guys on here said he has a pattern and a ceiling. I hoped it would be different here, but it sure seems it isn't going to be.

I hope we beat UNT, and UTSA, and just don have another WTF game against UTEP. I will take 7-5 and be disappointed in the season, but glad we didn't pull a sunbelt special and find a way to completely undo 3-4 years of progress in 1 year.

Pulling a Sunbelt special is as easy as fake blood on your forehead or your head coach wearing Children’s medium shirts on game day. We aren’t there.

This team ends up with 4-5 wins and that is the real life equivalent of a HUD circulation special from old navy.
