Rice Rice scores for the year-vs-tonight

Look closely at Rice, they have only scored more than 28 once this year and that was in a victory over UTEP. Examine all of the other scores and you will notice they scored no more than two touchdowns against any other opponent, and that was rare, maybe they suddenly got better!

Not on the Fire Skip Holtz train or anything like that, but I am of the opinion we are either regressing in our coaching and/or talent level for what ever that reason may be.

We have developed a fourth quarter pattern that none of us like, it happened again today, we just happened to capitalize on it and win, and it was much, much closer that the score reflected.

The coaches are under a lot of pressure, they are paid to be and to make good decisions when under pressure, we don't have to be a lynch party and want all the coaches heads, but I see nothing wrong with a little analysis.

Today’s game is all you need to see to know our defense is still really bad. Teams have career days against us every single season. Playing us is like having a signed permission slip to pad your stats.

We're in the 35th percentile nationally
If that's your kid in school your worried
But according to Skip our defense is much improved
I bet by the end I of the season our #s are no better than last year

No real improvement that I see, but the offense must improve to keep this defense off the field so they can at least be mediocre the last quarter and a half of the game. The pattern for each of our games is the same, it has not changed that much, just so happens we won last game.

Just my analysis, a not so qualified one at that, but an analysis by a not so fragile, faithful to the end fan.

We had no answer for the end around, which they ran about every other play.

Those are some of the things that are causing these third and fourth quarter meltdowns in my opinion. Who ever we are playing, their offense figures out these weak areas by third quarter and begin exploiting them over and over. We seem to very seldom have an adjustment or maybe we just do not have an answer.

It's Trump's fault. He Tweeted how Tech should defend the end-around play.

He said to build a wall and we couldn’t get it done.

Was that Trump or Hogdawg that tweeted that?

We have no LBs. Our best is injured. We have never really had great LBs with COYHCSH coaching. Apparently good LBs, special teams play, and clock management are not important to him. We have one D Lineman who can rush. He is either doubled our held every down.

Either...they are in constant contact with each other. It was Hogdawg that advised Trump to turn up the heat on ISIS, and look, ISIS is about done.

I was optimistic early in the year we might have found a defense. But, they are still basically the same as previous years. The biggest difference is we don't have a potent offense this year.

Last year's score in Ruston was 61-16. Rice is making progress.

I think this is part of the problem. Most of the teams in the conference are improving, if even not by much, while we have stagnated or even regressed in many areas.

This year we have no QB and a worse defense. Not so much Rice is getting better
