In KD's freshman year (2012) no one really knew him so defenses didn't key on him. Dixon was able to run the ball successfully. Toward the end of that year, and in 2013 (when we had QB issues) opposing defenses really keyed on KD. It became tough for Dixon to run the ball. So, we started flaring him out and throwing to him. That put the ball in his hands in open space. In 2014, his junior year, he was a marked man. Opposing defenses schemed to stop him. So, we started seeing KD going a little further down field, into pass patterns. Yes, this was mixed in with him still running the ball to keep defenses honest. By 2015, his senior year, KD was running patterns 20-35 yards downfield. It was the only way to get him the ball. Otherwise he'd just been bottled up in the backfield.
All that to say: Boston Scott could be another KD-type offensive weapon. I would feature Scott just like we did Dixon. But then...I'm not as smart as Holtz or this eagle2180 guy who thinks ONLY Skip Holtz is capable of knowing anything about football.
