Time is your friend. Impulse is your enemy. -John Bogle
I don't think Holtz has done anything to warrant being fired. Yeah, I'm as disappointed as the next guy, but come on man! Good thing Notre Dame decided to keep Brian Kelly after last year's woeful 4-8 season.
I HOPE we can finish 6-6 and maybe sneak into a bowl. That would be good. And, I hope and EXPECT better things next year out of Holtz.
Do we really KNOW what Skip's "buyout" is? Not the vlaue of his remaining years, but rather the buyout? For the record, employment contracts can include a different buyout amount other than just the remaining years of the contract times the salary. For instance, a coach could have signed a 3.5M contract for 5 years, but with a $1M buyout clause included after year 1, etc.... Not realizing this, is a common mistake that many amateur fans make.
Many on this board wants to fire him after any loss, one bad season does not warrant a firing. Also, it is not a stagnant environment all the teams discussed are much better than last year and are much more experienced. Let him run the team and, if possible try and become good loyal fans and not expect to be Alabama. Showing up and supporting the team, our University, is more than wins and losses. The program as a whole, I believe is better now than when he was hired. If you can’t same anything good just don’t say anything. There may come a time this kind of discussion may be warranted not now.
Who besides one screen name wants him fired? Most of us just want him to grow a pair.
I have a question about that number and this is a serious question. Does that buyout have some kind of rollover amount attached to it etc. I have never seen a buyout clause be something other than a round figure i.e. 3 mil, or 3.2 mil.
Why don't we get rid of the AD and make Skippy the AD continuing to pay him what we are paying him then hire a more capable HC? I think we would be better off. Just a thought!
