I'm ok with an exhibition game. Just not the handful we insist on playing.

This was not an exhibition game for us. Exhibition for them, real game for us. We chose to play 2 secret scrimmages (vs TCU in Tyler and at ULM) instead of playing public exhibitions.

I can't seem to find something I thought I read several years ago about how games between D-III and D-I schools are recorded, so my memory could be faulty. But I thought I read that such games count as a game for the D-I school, but not as a game for the D-III school - which seems kind of weird to me. I do know that is no mention of tonight's game on UT-Tyler's website and the game is not listed on their schedule - almost as if it doesn't exist. http://www.uttylerpatriots.com/mbasketball/schedule/

That is correct. LSUA went undefeated last year, but lost to NSU in a close, but unrecorded game... for them

For us, it depends when we schedule it. Before the second Friday in November would be an exhibition for us. On or after the second Friday in November would count as a real game for us. As for the non-DI opponents, they can choose to designate those games against DI teams as exhibitions.

It's been over 8 months since the last home game. We're just glad to get our first look at the team.

Interesting stat headed into the season that I bet most of our fans did not recognize...

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS YOUNG EXPERIENCE?

The Bulldogs return seven of their top nine scorers off the 23-win team last season. They also return a good amount of the assists, steals and blocks.

    Points returning -- 1,617 of 2,577 (63%)
    Rebounds returning -- 763 of 1,246 (61%)
    Assists returning -- 467 of 543 (86%)
    Steals returning -- 188 of 223 (84%)
    Blocks returning -- 124 of 176 (70%)

That is interesting. I'd like to see Pomeroy's stats on that and see how we stack up (I know 06 has access).
