We've exploded on UTT start of the first half! Up by 38 4:44 into the 2nd half
No starters on the court and we're looking good!
103 - 69 with 2:43 left
112 - 71 final! no starters for most of 2nd half. Everyone played hard all night long!
I can't seem to find something I thought I read several years ago about how games between D-III and D-I schools are recorded, so my memory could be faulty. But I thought I read that such games count as a game for the D-I school, but not as a game for the D-III school - which seems kind of weird to me. I do know that is no mention of tonight's game on UT-Tyler's website and the game is not listed on their schedule - almost as if it doesn't exist. http://www.uttylerpatriots.com/mbasketball/schedule/
LSUA is actually NAIA. Maybe they are treated like NCAA 3. They beat Northwestern State the preceding year.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
All 14 Bulldogs scored, anchored by sophomore Jalen Harris who poured in a career-high 25 points, as Louisiana Tech dominated UT Tyler with a final score of 112-71 in the regular season opener on Friday night inside the Thomas Assembly Center.

They're young but the combo of experience + talent + athleticism should help offset the major losses of McCree and Sherman. If everyone plays their part (coaches too), they should be dancing in March.
Just now seeing this. KenPom's personnel rankings like most other KenPom rankings are basically not applicable right now because we haven't played a DI opponent yet while most others have. Like RPI, KenPom does not count non-DI games. If ranked right now, our 1.67 years experience would tie us with Marist at #157. If ranked right now, our minutes continuity would tie us with Longwood at #207. If ranked right now, our bench minutes are 29% which would tie us with a bunch of teams at #143. But like I said, KenPom doesn't even rank us in those categories right now because we don't have a DI boxscore on the books yet. I think there are more than 50 teams that haven't played a DI opponent yet. We should get a better picture after tonight. But make no mistake, we did lose 2 of our top 3 contributors from last year's team: McCree (#1) and Sherman (#3).

For us, it depends when we schedule it. Before the second Friday in November would be an exhibition for us. On or after the second Friday in November would count as a real game for us. As for the non-DI opponents, they can choose to designate those games against DI teams as exhibitions.
