Questions for Skip.....
1. What jar are they kept in?
2. Do you know the current location and have access to said jar?
3. Do you know how to have them reattached?
I don’t buy the simplified offense thing, maybe limiting J’Mar’s pass options though. This is the same offense I’ve seen for the last few years. The difference is simply that Tech has less capable play makers.
My question would be, what are we going to try next? What we’ve tried lately hasn’t worked. What’s plan G?
I'd like to see somebody axe him if he has any prospects for a job elsewhere, and if so, when might he be leaving ??
Moving the ball from red zone to red zone wasnt the issue. Cant stall every time we get to close - gotta score some TDs. Anytime you have over 500 yds of offense you know you moved the ball but the score didnt reflect. JMar and our receivers struggle when the field get smaller and we have NO CONSISTENT running game. Gotta be really good in red zone passing game (and we are not) or be able to run the football (and we have not all year).
If we could run the ball effectively this offense would be much more effective. If you think about it, Skip has never had a strong running game. When we had Dixon we had a guy that didnt need much to create a whole lot but he was injured a lot. W/o Dixon we were very average running the football even when we were scoring 40+ pts per game. The difference is we had good QBs and receivers and could throw it for 400 yds per game and score TDs.
Skip needs to really rethink the running game moving forward. Having a talented back or two really helps but our O-line has got to get better. There's a reason in the NFL successful offenses have strong running attacks. Its necessary to open up passing lanes and to keep the defense off balance. To beat us just make us one dimensional and we struggle to score points. In addition, our defense gave up more points than its avg simply because FAU was effective in the red zone. Baker's scheme is built to bend from 30 to 30 but up until Saturday the red zone defense has been our strength. As usual we gave up yds all game long but FAU made us pay by turning red zone opportunities into points. If im an offensive coach Im practicing red zone offense all week in preparation against us, getting there is a given, scoring when there is the key to hanging 40+ on us.
We gave up about the same total yds we have all year, just not as effective in red zone defense. Those that think our defense is much improved
isnt watching the same team. Better in the red zone - yes, better overall - slightly. Meanwhile Diaz is still doing in Miami what he did here, but for some reason that style is too aggressive for our current staff.
"Hey Coach Holtz, last week your special team's missed a chip shot FG, averaged only 18.7 yards a punt for 3 punts and gave up the 98-yard TD kick return to open the 2nd half. Any chance you'll be firing your Special Teams coach before next week? And if not, WHY THE HELL NOT??"This week's questions for Skip?
