Lane will be gone after this year. If you’re a NCAA coach, you HAVE to strike while the iron is hot. That money won’t be there forever, and neither will the loyalty of the fans or AD of your current job. It’s a cut throat business.

Kiffin headed back to Tennessee???? That's the rumor. Well, that's "a" rumor. There are/will be lots of such rumors, until one of them becomes true.
Skippy will be in Fayetteville before Kiffin goes to UT as the Vols HC.
And Skippy aint going anywhere.
Best in the business? Are you ever right about anything?
Just kidding. I've never been impressed with Jeff Long. After Bobby Petrino self destructed at Arkansas, Long hired John L Smith for 1 season to replace Petrino, and the Hogs promptly went 3-9. Then Long hired Bret Bielema, and ended up foolishly giving Bielema a 6-year contract extension after Arkansas' 7-6 finish to the 2014 season. Not only that, Long more than doubled Bielema's buyout from $6.2M to more than $15M in the process. Make no mistake, Arkansas fans were pissed.
So, he doesn't hire well and he can't manger contracts well. I'd say that's a recipe for disaster in the AD role. Yeah, somebody may be stupid enough to hire him again, but they will have some real "selling" to do to their alumni.
By the way, I know Jeff long is very well connected. He's the ultimate insider. But he's also a slime ball. He is to college sports what "swampers" are to Washington DC politics. When they talk about draining the swamp, they're talking about guys like Jeff Long. And he's no friend to G5's either. He hates G5's.
UCLA would be pretty funny--imagine the sportswriters waiting at airport for Kiffin--arrives at runway where Pat Haden did not let him get on Plane with team and fired him 2 years ago. I would rule out LA--he's about as popular there as Weinsteen and Republicans. Not sure his "wild child" personality would sit well with AM-- lot of big time programs looking for coach but he still has a lot of "fresh" baggage--think any decent AD would ignore him after looking at resume....
