Going into the final game, 5-6....hoping to get bowl eligible. I'm having bad flashes of a game against Rice and two against Nevada. Hoping this is a different movie...

There was a time when a 6 - 6 record wasn't a guarantee for a bowl, now some 5 -7 teams are in. Now would be a good time to start playing great.
I usually don’t like this film. Hope it’s a better version than previous.
6-6 may not be in this year. Certain to be 74 teams at 6-6, plus there are 13 other teams that have a shot. Likely that 79 or 80 teams get there and one or two eligible teams will be left out.
We'll know a lot more after Saturday, but CUSA may be fighting with another G5 league to place a 6-win team. The problem Tech is going to run into is the fact CUSA places all teams with winning records before placing any 6-6 teams. Even if Tech takes care of UTSA, I suspect the Roadrunners at 6-5 (game with Houston to the start the season was cancelled) will be placed before any 6-6 team. CUSA will have at least 7 and possibly 8 teams with winning records with 6 bowl tie ins and 1 secondary tie in (Indy Bowl).
What I don't know is what the secondary agreement between the Independence Bowl and CUSA looks like. Is it a contract or is it a basic Memorandum of Understanding? Does the I-Bowl have to take a team placed there by CUSA, or can it take any bowl eligible team from CUSA that accepts an invitation?
If it comes down to it one thing that would help Tech is if FIU beats WKU in Miami on Saturday. That would leave WKU at 6-6 with a loss to Tech in a head to head matchup.
Guys....no worries. If we simply beat UTSA this weekend, I'll be satisfied. The time for this team to worry about bowl stuff was several weeks ago when we were playing USM, UNT and FAU. Not now. If we end up with a bowl invite, that's great. But if not, that's okay too, as long as we win this weekend.
