Bossier's big new employer CRSA is sponsoring free Frisco Bowl tickets to first 100 students. Huge Tech event this week in Bossier related to Tech''s new Louisiana Tech Research Institute in the Cyber Innovation Center. Governor scheduled to come, lots of Police jury and city support, great great plans for their future with Tech. CRSA ticket sponsor responsible for 800 jobs is working closely with us.

At some point our local governments ought to put a spanking on ibowls disdain for Tech (fourth choice: last resort university) and our investment in Shrv Bossier. Triple stadium rent, demand public records accountability, lobby for reorganization with totally new board and executive. We're doing fine fine fine without the bowl. Too bad Shrv sports community is the big loser. Most telling year ever. Watch bowl blame the conference or something.

FAU gets jobbed having to play Akron.

This really sucks for FAU & CUSA. As the conference champ, FAU deserves much better. I watched Akron get their tails whipped by Toledo yesterday 45-28. And no, it wasn't THAT close. Expect FAU to win this one by 40 points.

So Marshall --from CUSA east-- ended up with a bowl opponent 1,000 times better than what CUSA Champ FAU got. And FAU is also from CUSA East? Wow. (Mic drop.)

Traded Armed Forces to get Frisco (Tech)& Camelia (MtSU)

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of playing SMU in Frisco. It's really ideal for LA Tech. That said, why does there seem to be so much aversion to a team (like LA Tech) making back to back appearances in the Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth? There's absolutely nothing in the world wrong with making back to back appearances in a really good bowl like the Armed Forces Bowl, especially against Navy one year and Army the next.

That was the norm for them. They have no fans. Neither does FIU.

I used to know the owner of Babe's Chicken, before he passed away 6 or 8 years ago. He was a former CEO of the El Chicos Restaurant chain. Nicest man on the planet. He and his family own (or did own) the famed "Bubbas" chicken in Snyder Plaza, down in University Park, literally 200 yards from the SMU campus. It's a local staple that's been there since the 1960's or so.

Babe's is a much different atmosphere....great for family's and big gatherings. Great fried chicken, fried catfish, etc....

I don't think it was as much aversion to Tech being in FW again as it was a 2 for one trade.

I think CUSA did a great job getting teams placed.

I don't know what happened, but the original Ark St release had Ark st playing Akron in Camelia.

Somehow things get moved around and MtSU goes to Camelia.

To DogWin's point, SMU is very good......but they are not great. As someone stated, this is not the WAC's old SMU. Rather, it's the SMU team that Chad Morris built. This SMU will excel at throwing the ball a lot, and probably expect to score 40 points on us. To have a chance at victory in this game, LA Tech has to figure out how to score 2 more TD's than what we usually score (23 points). With SMU's defense being so weak, it is possible.

HD, you been boning up (TWSS) on your common core math? If they score 40 and we score 2 more TD's than our normal 23 points that puts us at 37.

Oh wait, I forgot...we will kick a last second field goal to tie the game!
