Morris is an outstanding coach with deep Texas high school football ties. SMU winning 7 games is like Tech winning 11 games. That is why Morris is moving on, cause he is a success. And I think Sonny is doing OK, he is making $1.6 million this year.

You are always quick to defend any coach, no matter what. So, why are you questioning the capability of this guy? He's a great coach! How many games have you won at SMU? Hmmmm?

thank you -- I did ask for help in my post -- not familiar with his resume ... the record threw me off and I am a big Sonny fan, he recruited my nephew who was wr at TT . Money wise Sonny did great but w/l did not work out --- should have said how did that work out for Cal

Speaking of SMU coaches, the coach who started the Pony Excess, Bobby Collins, died yesterday.

Correction it was Ron Meyer who died. Collins followed Meyer and was there when the death penalty was imposed.

He's been at SMU for 3 years and he's 14-22. He was a Texas high school coach through 2009 with a 169-38 record and 3 state championships.

How are the Arkansas fans responding? On Hogville, reception seems pretty negative.

From the little bit I've heard on drive-time-sports, it seems about 50/50.

Great hire. Chad Morris built the Clemson offense into what it is today. SMU is a very tough place to win with academic requirements... kinda like Cal.

Give Morris a couple years to recruit for the spread and they may be okay..if not, it should be viewed as “worth the shot”

It’s all about potential and resume fellas.

Just because you were an awesome waiter & bartender at a great steakhouse and bar in New York City doesn’t mean you can successfully manage a bossier griffs.

In case you needed any more help with his resume, Chad Morris was the OC at Clemson from 2011-2014. His offenses averaged 441, 512, 508 and 408 yards per game those years. Those teams ranked 26th, 9th, 11th and 61st nationally. Obviously, 2014 was a down year, but his offenses were very prolific. He also recruited a major portion of last year's title team, including Deshaun Watson.

Skip Holtz was 16-21 at S. Florida, 5-16 in conference. And he was trending in the opposite direction from Morris. What’s your point?
