I am told that UT AD John Currie made an offer to Jeff Brohm that Brohm accepted. Currie then asked the chancellor to approve the offer — buyout included — and chancellor said no. So Currie went back to Brohm with lesser offer and Brohm said no. So here we are.

They have been a mess ever since they let Phil Fulmer go. Just goes to show money does not guarantee success or intelligence!

Seems you should get whatever approvals you need before you make the offer.

Totally agree! I said earlier today I think he is on his way out. Perhaps the most screwed up coaching hire ever!

That's unbelievable. What's unbelievable is the fact that Tennessee AD Currie wasn't on the same page with his chancellor. That's TWICE now. First with Greg Shiano, and now with Brohm, that Currie has gotten it wrong. UT might need a new AD.

Donte Stallworth: Soooo...I can confirm reports of a Lane Kiffin head coach, Tee Martin as OC, Kevin Steele as DC package deal was turned down.

I know a guy who's looking to make a move from his current gig.

SI and ESPN are now reporting that Dave Doeren will stay at NC State. So Tennessee is back to the drawing board. Does anyone have the number for the assistant football coach at West Knoxville Junior High School for John Currie? Tennessee hiring football coaches, you cannot make this stuff up.

Les Miles stated interest. He has proven to be a winner. Would love to see him beat the tiggers. Reported Tennessee is talking to Sumlin.

I could see that. Sumlin as HC. Chavis comes back as DC.

I'd much rather have Miles than Sumlin.

It's interesting. They still refuse to interview Miles.

I don't know if you can win in the SEC with Miles' style of football if your prime recruiting grounds don't touch the gulf (plus Georgia). Gonna be tough to go toe to toe athletically with UGA and UF.
