Baker has done a good job.

Yeah, I thought our defense was vastly improved this year. Having an awesome freshman in the secondary helped that quite a bit, though.

Vastly improved doesn't necessarily equal good. I'm willing to lay the blame at the feet of Hester for not making them strong enough to wrap up a tackler without 10 other guys, or Holtz for calling prevent win formations.

I think Baker would be smart to squeeze one more year out of LA Tech before jumping ship. His 2018 Bulldog defense will return 8 of 11 starters, including All-World DB Amik Robertson, 5 guys that will be seniors, and a very angry All-CUSA DE Jaylon Ferguson, who will be trying desperately to impress the NFL scouts.

I agree with you he can get to a P5 and P5 money ext year! I would do one more year rather than kill my career at ULOL with no talent and talent coming in this year and any he gets will last only one year as he will be getting the leftovers.

Has Baker improved as a coach, has Baker's players improved, and/or does Baker have better players?

A step change improvement next season like we saw this past would be fun to watch. I hope he stays another year. If not, so be it.

Im more scared of who replaces him.

If he continues to improve we may move up to the Top 80-90 in defense so I guess baby steps.

#73 in S&P. So actually not bad for a Tech team. Last year: #113.

But we are down in the low 100s for many individual metrics. I don't really trust raw numbers from the NCAA, even though they can be helpful sometimes.
