Lots of kids played in a game situation...
Beat them like we should of
Archibald looked good running the point and Pemberton got some much needed minutes against someone other than a teammate in a practice uniform...
While serving a purpose, really wish this would of been an away many game

This was good for the young guys.
For about a third of the 2nd period we had 4 freshmen on the floor and they played well together. Getting the bench extended, quality playing time in a real game vs practice is important to being ready for the CUSA tournament. If memory serves from what Nitz said post-game, the bench scored 64 points.
Wish people who didn't get to hear Konkol's post-game interview with Nitz & Thigpen could hear a replay. And Thigpen's thoughts on scheduling. They know college basketball and the balancing act that scheduling demands.
Archibald has been VERY impressive in scrimmages and a few practices I have been to. He reminds me of poor man's D'Aaron Fox, so quick and has a knack getting to the rim and dishing. I was surprised to see him play, he is so young and on the skinny side, I assumed the plan was to RS him. Maybe this is like an exhibition game with NCAA since it doesn't count for Miles College, who I have never heard of before the schedule came out.
Agree, this should have been a money game somewhere or part of a home and home with some decent team. Out of top 150 you would think we could find a few decent scheduling partners somewhere.
Miles College is a historically black private liberal arts college located just west of Birmingham in Fairfield, Alabama. I guess Tech must have paid them enough to make it worth the trip to Ruston.
My guess $5000
Don't want a home and home, need 3 money RPI boosters....
