This one-sided, lop-sided win over a favored SMU seemed much like the 56-10 beat-down Tech gave that high-flying WKU offense in Ruston the Sokol year.
In an out-of-the-box view, winning end of year bowl games in DFW every year is a really Big Win. Continue this trend over the next 5, 8, 10 years and see the results. Can Tech capitalize on this?
This 2017 bowl season:
TCU is playing down in San Antonio. (Alamo Bowl)
Texas is playing in Houston. (Texas Bowl)
TX A&M is playing in Charlotte, NC (Belk Bowl)
TX Tech played in Birmingham (B'ham Bowl)
Baylor is staying at home.
So the "SMU vs LA Tech" game was the only local Bowl game featuring "local" teams this year in DFW. This was a great year for LA Tech to play in DFW.
And, if you're a HS player you'd have to be wowed! by that monumental beat down Tech put on. It was a complete and total domination, from the team on the field, to the bands, and to the fans, since we out-numbered theirs. Also, the Tech players were having fun! The high-fiving, the celebrating... seems to me some 17-18 yr old kid would have been impressed and would want to be a part of all that fun!
