I would take the win against Nevada the following week, as a much bigger win. Down 20-3 in the fourth, and pull it out to basically put us in place for conference championship.

Thanks. Some of these people need to have their fan cards checked. Ole Miss was a HORRIBLE team with more Tech fans that Miss fans in Oxford.

    Navy is acceptable.

It sure was fun shutting down Vaught-Hemingway that night. Even if they were terrible.

I suppose, but we were favored on the road. It was not a big win.

Yeah, I was comparing it to the Ole Miss game. I really liked the Navy game last year...I had a lot of people at the office come up to be and say how fun our team was to watch after that game (I live in South Carolina).

I wouldn't even count the Kansas State and Kansas games back in the 80s. Virginia and Illinois right up there with those last two.

I want to see us beat TAMU and LSU. Do that before I die.
That is also on my bucket list!!!

Yep, the "tug of war" play helped us win that game!!

. I was there and it was incredible win. Nevada was celebrating til the monster hit turned TD into FG and then QP pulls our guy out of bounds to save time. Absolutely one of my favorite games ever

This one-sided, lop-sided win over a favored SMU seemed much like the 56-10 beat-down Tech gave that high-flying WKU offense in Ruston the Sokol year.

    59-10, but who's counting.

In an out-of-the-box view, winning end of year bowl games in DFW every year is a really Big Win. Continue this trend over the next 5, 8, 10 years and see the results. Can Tech capitalize on this?

    This 2017 bowl season:

TCU is playing down in San Antonio. (Alamo Bowl)
Texas is playing in Houston. (Texas Bowl)
TX A&M is playing in Charlotte, NC (Belk Bowl)
TX Tech played in Birmingham (B'ham Bowl)
    Baylor is staying at home.

So the "SMU vs LA Tech" game was the only local Bowl game featuring "local" teams this year in DFW. This was a great year for LA Tech to play in DFW.

And, if you're a HS player you'd have to be wowed! by that monumental beat down Tech put on. It was a complete and total domination, from the team on the field, to the bands, and to the fans, since we out-numbered theirs. Also, the Tech players were having fun! The high-fiving, the celebrating... seems to me some 17-18 yr old kid would have been impressed and would want to be a part of all that fun!
