Many SMU fans said talent alone, they should beat Tech.

Skip does a great job preparing for bowl games. He needs to learn how to do the same for regular season games and I could get on board with him. Tech should have been 9-3 regular season, so a great bowl win does not erase the failures of the regular season.

All he needs to do is beat LSU and I'll become a believer. Should be easy, a Sunbelt school managed to do it rather handily
This is circled "bigly" on my calendar, and nothing will stop me from coming down from Iowa for it. I'm looking forward to this game, starting today.

Their supposedly all-world WR couldn't save them either. I'm starting to wonder about their conference... I know ours was garbage this year, but maybe theirs was too...

And Ryan Moats, Xavier Woods, & Dak Prescott (has a couple of friends on Tech's team). Eric Dickerson, Craig James, and Cole Beasley were there for SMU too (for a little while).

We did an outstanding job covering their receivers. Through the whole game. The coverage made Hicks hold the ball longer than he normally had to and our line & LB's got good pressure on him. And that blitzing off the end was killer. Maybe we've finally figured out how to execute our defense.

I thought the first interceptions were simply because Hicks thought his receivers were so super and much better than our DBs. After the third one he had the deer in the headlights look. You could tell they didn't want to go forward with their passing game.

Amik Robertson is just always looking for an opportunity to make a big play. He is SUCH a weapon. I think his attitude and his play are contagious influences on the defense,

Hicks has had some good receivers to throw to, he was able to throw the 50/50 pass a lot where his receivers were able to just get the ball, not the case last night. Our defense was on the job last night and kept that from happening.

I hope Amik does not suffer from that sophomore slump we see sometimes, 3-4 years of his kind of playing would be great for the team(and Amik). I say to 3-4 years because if he continues to improve and push himself at this rate, he could be talking NFL after his JR year.

I remember seeing video of Amik covering Watts during fall camp and said he was going to be special.
Wow is he special, major super STAR. He falls in that Woods and Brice category. Game changer

It's a shame he could not have had them ready during the season. Has anybody tried to hire him away like our last S&C guy? Let me guess...he loves Ruston.

We played like there was nothing to lose instead of being overly cautious. I especially enjoyed the pressure we put on their qb and the ball-hawking by our db's.

I noticed a huge billboard in our hotel lobby promoting an upcoming baseball tournament at Dr Pepper stadium. Teams including California, Texas A&M, Baylor and LaTech. Seeing our emblem with the others is quite impressive!
