Two bowl games played...
Sunbelt 2 - CUSA 0 (and one of those games was a complete domination). <-- This is a serious problem folks.
This conference is stagnant AT BEST. Not many historical opponents which means declining fan base interest.
90 yard TD run for Marshall. Marshall 28 - Colorado St 14 in Q3.
Go Herd! End today's streak in the NM underwear bowl.
The TV guys said at the end of the game Troy was a heavily senior-laden team this year, some 5th year seniors, and that they will be rebuilding next year. I don't have a clue about Troy's roster, but based on that tidbit, it seems Troy was ripe for a very good year. But, whatever, Troy dominated and was clearly the much better team today. It's not like UNT was a 6-6 barely making it to a bowl team. They were Western Division champs. Except for FAU, they were arguably the best team in CUSA this year.
CUSA's performance in the bowls will speak volumes about the true competitive level of the conference, and shed the final light of truth on Holtz's performance this year.
Marshall is doing the same stupid things we've done in the 4th quarters of games and it is killing them.
1. Marshall started going to a 3-man rushing 'prevent' defense that has led to CSU first down after first down.
2. Getting the offensive plays in with <10 seconds on the clock is making their offensive execution a sloppy, frantic train wreck and nearly a delay of game almost every play.
Marshall 31 - CSU 28 CSU gets the ball again with 3 minutes remaining.
I think it has been spoken. CUSA is SunBelt 2.0. WKU and FAU have been the champions the last three years. Read that again, WKU and FAU have been the champions the last three years. This years was an all SunBelt game.
So what’s our problem/excuse? Are we fine settling where we are?
You guys are such Debbie Downers. Is there anything positive you can say about CUSA?
