Football. 1969 Grantland Rice Bowl: Bradshaw's last collegiate game - latechsports.co

A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

Terry Bradshaw was the College Division All-America QB (an honor announced the previous week) and considered by many the best at his position in the country, regardless of classification. The believers included the NFL talent scouts who saw him as a potential high first-round draft pick.

Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge. Have never been in it, but it looks like a neat little stadium (as seen at 90 mph from I-110).

Fantastic that many in our own administration dismiss one of the greatest eras of Tech Sports.

Maybe it looks "neat" now but back in 1969 it was just a smallish high school stadium. Felt like BR was really telling us we were second class. I don't know why it was held there. They certainly didn't get any tourist business from us although we came in from out of town. We went on down to NO and spent the night in the French Quarter. The whole show was embarrassing except for NO. We had brought a friend who was from Missouri who wanted to see Terry Bradshaw play. Boy was he disappointed, as were we. The "we" were three 1969 Tech graduates.
