To sum up the season... 1.25 million TV sets tuned in to watch our Frisco Bowl runaway victory.

In the words of Major Payne, “You’re still a s#!+ sandwich, you’re just not a soggy one!”
If we don't lead the nation in one hop passes, we will be a 9-10 win team. We short hop passes to open WRs like we get bonus points for it!!! If we cure that......and get a legit RB.....and stop delay hand offs on every run play, we will be much improved. We spanked SMU's ass and I loved it!!!!!
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!
Terribly disappointing season. Flopping against MSU and then losing so many close games totally sucked away my interest.
Agree, we took a step back from a “building the program” perspective.
Ouch!
Don't be so down. This is the season to be optimistic! Every program, even ulm, can dream right now of having a great next year. We did finish the season strong, we do have most of the key players coming back next year. There is every reason to be cheery and optimistic. Smile, relax...be like D65 and just see all the good things.
Merry Christmas!
I really don't know if we took a step back. Put it this way--do yall think we'd have a better season NEXT year had we finished 9-4? The "hope we're good enough to get by" approach did not work in the close games this year. In stark contrast, the "play like there's no tomorrow" attitude did wonders for our performance. Maybe Skip will put two and two together.

IMO, 9-4 next year is no better than 7-6. Our goal should be to reach or at least compete for the Access Bowl. Even winning C-USA does nothing for us in the big picture. To take our program to the next level we have to become a ranked team and win games against P5 teams.
I agree. We have to beat either LSU or Miss State next year AND contend for the conference title to take the next step. We had a chance to win at South Carolina but didn't put them away when they were down. Skip wanted to win by a field goal instead of scoring the TD. Then his persistent chiding of J'Mar over that interception (which was a dumb throw because Watt's wasn't on the same page but it was also an amazing interception) basically put J'Mar in a shell. The one who needed to be chided for that loss was Skip because he tried to win it with a field goal. That's the sort of thing he has to figure out--and this season sent the message in LOUD language imo.

Anyone remember what the first sentence of the original post was?
Not to be the "Debbie Downer" here but I think the outcome of the game would have been different if they had not lost Chad Morris along with the majority of their offensive coaching staff going with him. Moreover, realistically SD had little if any productive inputs into the game and was merely on the sidelines in a show of support for his new team. Mmost of the coaching decisions were relegated to their average at best Defensive Coordinator along with some coaching leftovers and grad assistants that Morris didn't want to take with him to Arkansas. I feel that TECH could have won the game but it was not going to be a blowout as it turned out.
Playing and winning the last game of the year in DFW is starting to pay nice dividends to the Dawgs. The average DFW college football fan is starting to appreciate the excitement, work ethic and winning attitude of the Tech program. The football fans here realize that their favorite Cowboy, Dak, is from our area and that Xavier went to school at Tech.
Now, imagine Tech continuing this trend of winning bowls games in DFW, say six of the next eight years or more. DFW now becomes Tech's home away from home. This could be major and just kinda fell into Tech's lap. Tech HAS to market this in the right way.
