Defense was solid in the second half. We have to be able to rebound defensively. That's been our achilles all year.

Defense was completely missing in the first half and we spent the entire second half just trying to CATCH UP- yet again.
All our opponents have to do is hang 37 on us in the first half and that is too much for us to overcome. Texas, ULL, SFA, Alabama, and now WKU (with 7 men) have all rung us up that way.

I just returned from the game. Very depressing. WKU shot 17 free throws in the first half, and LA Tech shot NONE. Yes, you read that correctly. I hate CUSA basketball just for this reason. If the CUSA refs are not going to call games more fairly than this, just tell everyone in advance so the teams and fans can stay home and avoid all the trouble. This is ridiculous.

BTW, in White's defense, the foul on White in the paint that led to these first two free throws (with 14 seconds left) was a HORRIBLE call. White's feet were literally PLANTED down low. IMO, White did all the right things, and did a beautiful job of drawing the charge. Should have been a CHARGING call against WKU, but instead the game officials predictably called a defensive foul on White.
IMO, this was the Play of the Game. Just a terrible, sad piece of shit group of game officials. When the game was over and everyone was filing (as opposed to fouling) out, I saw 3 policemen guarding the door. I told them they all needed to go arrest those CUSA referees for theft. Everybody in the lobby laughed. Well....everyone but me.
Guys, I feel like I've started complaining about CUSA game officials all the time. But the CUSA refs are just so bad that it makes you want to quit watching CUSA basketball and go watch the ACC or Big XII or some other conference where at least the games are officiated properly and fairly. That's simply not the case in CUSA. This game was terribly officiated.
Tech played very well in the 2nd half.
But in the 1st half there was no ball movement around the perimeter offensively, there was no rebounding by Tech and Tech's man to man Defense was horrible. All three of these phases seemed to get corrected at halftime. IMO, we just can't play man-to-man with White on the floor. He's just not athletic at all, and has no business being on the floor.
