It took Holtz too long to figure out he was our best RB.
Also, can someone in the athletic video dept produce a professional highlight reel for Boston. He has been putting together his own stuff by recording game film from his phone.
I dont think he will admit it even now. A pro reel, which would boost Scotts stock, would only reinforce that Holtz mismanaged him.
I've felt like Boston Scott was being way underutilized ever since our New Orleans Bowl win. I think he should have been given about twice the carries (or catches) that he was.
Who was it who kept saying: Boston Scott should be our go-to guy? Oh yeah, me!
Holtz blew it (again) and missed an opportunity. After KD was gone (2015) Scott should have been catapulted to the feature back status. I also think Kam McKnight was under-used. He could be a huge weapon operating as a TE does, and also, from out of the backfield.
Water under the bridge....good luck to Boston.
Last year, Craft was healthy and very productive. He and Boston made for fantastic 1-2 punch. This season Craft was not healthy and rightfully so, Boston carried most of the load. Could he have played a bigger role? Yes probably but not much more. Boston was our leading rusher and 4th leading WR so it's not like he rode the pine. He had almost twice as many carries as Craft and double the yards. Both were very good players for us. Replacing Boston Scott will be the hardest job our coaches have this offseason I believe. I think Boston will have a shot in NFL as well as undrafted free agent and it wouldn't surprise me to see him make a team.
Our HC made it clear repeatedly that Craft was the starter. Even when a interviewer would ask him about that "1-2 punch" he would always follow with, "Craft is still our starter." Holtz has a hang up about walk-ons shining on his team.
Craft could not run up the middle. He had to have the corner.
