GAME DAY
There's new found energy for my crew of 4 in rooting for our four freshman. Especially seeing the quick development of DurujI and Archibald, but also Christon and Pemberton. I like seeing Jean starting again and Boykins athleticism. They've played with intensity the last couple of home games. I attribute it to the freshmen. Keep that up, get Bracey back and Powell contributing can keep home games fun and get us into the Frisco tournament. Get contribution from Slim and Washington we can still get a couple of surprise wins somewhere.
Hoping we bring that energy tonight. Gotta have it every game.
Rice has it's biggest lead of the game 19-13 early. The Owls have 8 pts in the paint, Tech has 2.
Freshman Christon with a 3-pter, Tech retakes the lead 21-19.
Tech has it's biggest lead of the game 29-21 6:30.
Halftime Tech 34 - Rice 28
Tech's new LIVE MASCOT is being introduced during halftime, so there is one less thing for BB&Bers to complain about.
He's a good looking fella!
Gotta love Duruji's defensive effort tonight, he loves blocking/altering shots all night long!
Tech has it's biggest lead 38-28. 17:03
4-pt play for Boykins! Tech leads 47-40 11:00 to go.
Duruji with the SLAM DUNK. Tech 53 - Rice 42 9:00.
Boykins is getting hot, hits a 3! Tech 56 - Rice 43
Washington splashes a 3 and then hits another one the next time down the court! Tech 64 - Rice 47 5:00 to go
Jean hits a 3! Turn out the lights, this party is over! Tech by 20 67-47. 3:33
Freshman Duruji slams it again on the fastbreak feed from Freshman Archibald.
Incredible team energy tonight that has been missing all season! Yes, it was just Rice, but that was our best game finish of the year.
Final: Tech 69 - Rice 54
Team is coming together.
Hope Joniah is ok.
White's pacemaker shocked him early in the game. They took him to the hospital as a precaution, but he is fine per Dave and Tech basketball tweets.
Jack and Dave were pumped about the effort tonight
Our freshman duo are fun to watch. They are both going to be special players.
I was most encouraged by Powell's aggressive rebounds and Washington's significant impact on both ends (TWSS). Duruji is already better than Stapleton ever was as a freshman. What might be even more impressive is that our best player has had a chance to heal up. Once Bracey gets back I think we won't rely on him to bear so much of the playmaking. Seems like our team is playing with more energy. Of course, we were playing Rice and they aren't that good. I'm interested though.
Have you considered those Dogs?
Glad White is OK. It’s a shame that young man has to go through so much at such a young age. But I’m thankful that the Doctors caught it before he ended up another athlete gone too soon.
And great win Dawgs. Duruji and Archibald are just amazing.
The new pup looks great! Guys are playing inspired. Peaking at the right time?
