NC State and Louisiana Tech schedule three-game football series: in Raleigh in 2021 and 2024, in Ruston in 2025.
There has to be cash involved or this was an awful deal. 2 for 1 with NC State? They aren’t Miss State.
It is amazing how we never announce financial details around these 2 for 1 agreements our AD loves so much. It is not difficult to find $1.2M-$1.5M game guarantees for single road games that enable us to host a much cheaper opponent OR TWO.

But the basic transactions are like the ones Farmer negotiated while serving as Louisiana-Lafayette’s athletics director from 2011 through 2016. In 2016, he scheduled a game at Mississippi for November that will give Louisiana-Lafayette $1.525 million. Two years earlier, he had arranged for the Ragin Cajuns to play at Texas A&M in mid-September for $1.25 million. Those two games will account for for 11% of Louisiana-Lafayette’s operating revenue in 2017-18, athletics department spokesman Matt Sullivan said.
This is the model under which eight schools affiliated with the Big Ten, Southeastern or Pac-12 conferences are paying at least $1 million to a season-opening opponent from one of the FBS conferences outside the Power Five. Altogether, there are at least 26 games this season in which a Power Five school is set to pay $1 million or more to an opponent.

I like the deal a little better.
Tech will be guaranteed $1.1 million for its 2021 visit to N.C. State, a fair market value meeting before the teams begin a home-and-home series 2024 and 2025. To make room for that road game, Louisiana Tech athletic director Tommy McClelland told the News-Star Monday that the moved the 2021 home date with Baylor to Week 3 of the 2023 season.
Our FMV is only $1.1-million? Weak.
Moved a home game vs. Baylor back two years.... traded a HOME game for a ROAD game.
We are hamstrung by our Southland Conference AD. Who, BTW, also views our game vs. the tiggers as our Super Bowl. Yeah, baby!
