Pure spin. They got a FISA warrant on Carter Page, most likely, based on substantial evidence of which some of the info that Steele provided was a part. Steele brought the info to the FBI and has been an informant to them in the past. Steele was originally funded by a conservative newspaper to do the research that went into he dossier. BTW, Carter Page had been recruited by the Russians during the Obama years , per the FBI. Steele was finally fired by the FBI as an informant. Clinton paid for the dossier and then the FBI used a re-circulated Yahoo News version to collaborate the dossier non-facts. This was the basis by the Trump haters and their "Insurance Policy" (per the FBI lovers text) as they stated to try and bring down Trump by whatever means possible. The FISA warrant was approved from this fake dosser and Mueller has been running with it ever since. It will be thrown out as it is totally fake and just a hater BS piece by the left.

That is the whole thing. This was a FISA warrant for Carter Page, someone Trump claims has nothing to do with his campaign. If so, what difference would it have made if the Clinton campaign had indirectly funded part of Steele’s work?
You have to have been following the rest of the story from both sides from day one to put it together Guisslapp.
I understand you might not know this because I suspect your right wing media sources were in no hurry to report on it.
But in essence, Steele had determined 6 months before our IC did, based on a number of sources, that the Russians combined cyber and propaganda operation was directed personally by Vladimir Putin, with the aim of harming Hillary Clinton's candidacy and helping Trump.

Wow! Turns out that even the strongest insinuation of the Nunes memo - that FISA court wasn’t informed of Steele’s potential political motivations - was also misleading at best.
According to an official cited in the Washington Post on Friday, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter's sensitivity, the Justice Department presented "ample disclosure of relevant, material facts," to the FISA court, including that "the research was being paid for by a political entity."
The New York Times also reported Friday that the FISA court was told about political motivations behind the dossier. A Democratic memo written to rebut the allegations in Nunes' document said the FBI did, in fact, tell the court that the information in the Steele dossier was politically motivated, even if the bureau didn't mention that research that went into the dossier was paid for by Democrats, the Times reported, citing two people familiar with the Democratic memo.

So the Russians were targeting Hillary election possibilities, like they do all countries and Obama did Israel (Proven). Hum...while Hillary was colluding with the DNC and Media (probably Obama ADM as well as the FBI (per his wife illegal activity) ) to nueter/nix Bernie Sanders election (Proven). And at the same time and intact before the haters of Hillary/FBI/Media/Obama ADM/DNC were colluding to target candidate Trump pre and post election with FISA warrant using a "fake news dossier/re-circ Yahoo News)" as their "insurance protection" to impeach Trump if he was elected (Proven).
And there is still zero collusion by Trump with Russia that has been presented or proven; just a couple of staff members lying about other crap via a FISA warrant using a "fake news dossier/re-circ Yahoo News".

I am all for exposing the rot. It is just that right now it looks like the biggest source of rot in Washington DC is Trump and Nunes.
I have no doubt that the “establishment” has some major issues. But it is nothing of the magnitude alleged in these conspiracy theories that we keep hearing from the Alt right, and the orange clown of a president that amplifies these paranoid ideas to further insulate himself from criticism.
