I think Nunes' point was that not all relevant information was disclosed.
That is not what the judge was told according to Schiff. The judge was told Steele was hired to look into Trump's ties to Russia. The FBI speculated the reason was to discredit the campaign, but the motivation was not known. Or, in other words, the FBI assigned a reason without determining the reason. Also, the full extent to who (Clinton, DNC, Fusion GPS) was involved as Nunes' stated was not revealed and Schiff does nothing to contradict that. Also also, Nunes' memo never claimed the dossier to be the sole or primary source for the FISA application. Nunes' claim was "essential" and Schiff says it was a part. If the evidence the FBI already had was enough for the judge, the dossier would not have been needed at all. But as it was used to support prior findings, the dossier became essential.
Count me as someone that really wants to see the redacted parts. However, I don't think there is anything within the redacted parts that would shine a new or alternative light beyond what both Nunes and Schiff had already done to try and prove the other wrong.
Not throughout the government.
Now that the 'craps have released their memo, we see what Nunes said is absolutely true on the central issue: the dossier.
