Had Tim been an OC?
Not that I've seen. He's been a receiver's coach twice and now a QB coach, so I have no idea where the "Tim's been slighted" talk comes from.
Tim is a legend at Tech and I am glad he is here. I am guessing he has a better chance of becoming an offensive coordinator here than anywhere else (if that is what he wants to do). He has already moved from WR coach to QB coach, so he is gaining the experience he needs to move ahead (if that is what he wants to do).
I am posting facts. Losing 4 games at home should get you fired no matter how much you win your bowl game. Our leadership is spineless, if they are not going to fire him the least they can do is force him to hire an OC, it actually happens at other programs. Point out one thing that I have made up. I guess that I am not winning because Skip is still our Head Coach, but LA Tech is not winning, with a 3-4 home record, no conference championships, and declining attendance.
It is NOT the job of the AD to micro-manage the football team, or any program. And considering who our AD is, thank gawd for that!
Coaches love to keep learning the game! I can imagine that TR wanted to learn from Gruden! Gruden was a really good QB coach in the NFL before becoming a HC! Rattay maybe wanted to learn a new offensive system! To be a HC you need plenty of exposure to as many systems and ideas as possible! We all love Rattay and wish his offensive mind would equal his playing ability! You can't argue with experience when prepping to be the boss one day!
Rattay knows that he must leave Tech to gain outside coaching experience. He will be gone by this time in 2019. I hope he flourishes and returns to Ruston as HC.
