What they did to BSU, on the blue turf, makes me feel a little better about our team.
BYU has a legit Heisman contender and a legit BCS bowl team this year.
BYU is G5. They don't belong to a P5 conference. They have never belonged to a P5 conference, ever. They used to be in the WAC, as I recall. Indy now, and still a G5.
And there is no more BCS.
Marshall fans are clamoring for a game with BYU. Be careful what you wish for. I do think MU can hang with BYU for a spell, and should make more of a game of it then most have so far (except UTSA which was just an anomaly as they caught BYU napping), but MU would lose by 3 touchdowns.
As you know, G5 stands for group of 5 CONFERENCES. BYU is independent and not in one of those 5 conferences. I agree that they are not P5 either.
No way to tell if they are better than the great Central Florida team, but they are certainly a top 10 team. Probably top 8, which means they would have a shot with a fair playoff system.
BYU and Cincinnati both are very good. For all their complaining about the Big 10 restrictions, Nebraska was probably saved from a Bearcat beatdown by COVID.
I think BYU would have had a really good shot at winning the PAC 12 or Big 12 this year.

A top 25 ranking. A spanking of Southern Miss sandwiched between two victories over ACC teams. Holtz would slap himself silly for even dreaming that big. Not sure what Skip dreams about, but am pretty sure it is not Tech football. Liberty big game at NC State in two weeks and closing at Coastal.

Two funny things. Lawrence couldn't play brcause of covid. Yet he was at the game, on the sideline and in every sideline huddle. Notre Dame fans stormed the field after the game. No covid restrictions on that. College football shows a lot of confusion with regards to covid. way too many cancellations and it is handled so differently between conferences. It makes college football look silly.
