socialist = flaming liberals who hate guns. Gun free zones are problem 1. That has to be changed first

Cops carry guns in gun free zones. Are SROs not the same way?

    So do criminals.

The only folks that don't are law abiding citizens that wish to protect themselves.

It varies by state but the federal law prohibits it other than law enforcement acting in an official capacity.

    SROs are law enforcement, typically.

Something other than SROs? I don’t think they are school employees, rather they are employed by the police or sheriff and assigned to the school.

They have guns and they are trained to stop people with guns at schools. You and others had a problem with that in the early part of this thread.

No, that is your imagination. Some of us didn’t like the idea of teachers being armed. Teachers (even if trained in the use of their firearms) - not law enforcement officers.

I was not hung up on using teachers even though I don't think it's a bad idea. I repeatedly called for school staff or school employees to be armed which includes SROs. Not all schools have SROs you certainly have not been calling for more SROs.

I don’t think SROs are school employees.

I'm pretty sure they are employees of the Sheriff's Office, but are "contractors" for the School Board. Really no different then when plumbers are paid to provide services at a school.

Right, the important distinction being who controls how they do their job.

You never called for more SROs so it really doesn't matter who hired them. They work at the schools and are known as part of the schools.

It takes guns to stop guns. You disagreed and said finding a group of idiots to rush the deranged gunman was a better idea.
