No, too draconian to ban all knives. Just ban assault knives. Those scary-looking ones with banana clips and bump stocks. I even saw one with a night vision scope on it. You forgot "assault STYLE knives". Those look scarier than the others, and some have a fake night vision scope, but are really no different than your basic butter kniife.
Also, Bullseye from Daredevil showed us that safety pins and paper clips are deadly. Ban immediately.

Still want to see how they're going to stop the machete issues in Germany.
People who bring very sharp knives into their homes are much more likely to have an accidental death from knives that those who only bring butter knives into their homes.
According to some google statistic of course.
If you face off with a sharp knife wielder remember the best defense is not to wield a knife yourself, rather you should rush the bad guy.
You are forgetting one crucial detail. You have to wait until your bros get there because you have to be able to tag team the bad guy. safety in unarmed numbers you know.
Statistically, if you own a knife, someone in your house is more likely to get cut by it than you will use it in self defense.
