There will be no end. Someone got killed with a bow and arrow in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, so God help the archers out there.

Wake up, America. Support effective background checks, mental health evaluations, armed security at schools but don't let them ban a rifle simply for the sake of "doing something". I did not trust Obama or Hillary to enact effective and constitutional policies but I think the Trump administration can. Let's just make certain we don't elect anyone like Obama/Hillary/Bernie ever again.
    Exactly right.

This is NOT at all related to the proliferation of guns anyway. This whole mass shooting trend started in the late 1990s (1999 with Columbine to be exact) and is likely the direct result of trends established by the left in the 1960s. Permissive parenting where the child is the parent's best friend instead of their child, the disintegration of the American family where baby mommas and baby daddies replaced mothers and fathers, and stupid stuff where participation trophies became the norm and competition was frowned upon to make sure children were not psychologically injured by not winning all the time. The examples are endless.

Basically, we are living in a constant state of Anomie here in America where our traditional values have been undermined and the very thing that is supposed to hold us together here (we are a nation of immigrants from many cultures, so we are a nation of laws) is being weakened.

The problem is not the guns, it is the snowflakes that have been raised in a post-values America that have limited understanding of right and wrong and expect to be coddled their whole lives. They have no concept of a higher purpose and focus only on what benefits them.

Those tie-dyed idiots plated the seeds to destroy America.

Gun guys are livid at Trump’s bump stock decision. The NRA is backing Trump.

Politically, this is a very curious move.

Yes it is but possibly a truly great and courageous one when added to not selling guns to those under 21 years of age.

And I bet Trump will get new legislation passed which Obama with full control couldn't or really didn't want to (to keep it a election item for the Dems/libs).

President Trump warms to gun control measures in wake of school shooting

The president is signaling an openness to the idea of raising the minimum age for gun purchases after last week’s school shooting in Parkland, where a 19-year-old is accused of killing 17 teachers and students with an AR-15 rifle.

Why am I suspicious that you would be against these things if Obama was the president?

Because Obama's and the Democrats/socialist libs larger agenda was and still is Anti-American, unconstitutional and usually emotionally fake and not logical. Obama/Hillary/Igore/Kerry/Pelosi and the libs in general always have a much larger hungry and evil Anti-American agenda that must be greedily satisfied. I'll gladly take Trump's two proposals, if I have to, because his intent and concern is only for our children and the American people.

That said, it would still be a huge political plus, if passed, for his re-election and all of the GOP in all honesty.

    Re: 2nd Amendment

I can, might trust that if Trump is the driving force behind this it'll be JUST that, and no more! I know for a fact the libtards would NEVER stop at some reasonable compromise, but would use it as a stepping stone to the next draconian take-away. But, as hinted, I'm not sure I trust anyone in DC to stop.

But that trust stuff aside, it's really a moot point. The 2nd Amendment does not qualify nor list exceptions for Americans to own firearms...and accessories. NO ONE, not even President Trump, has the legal authority to ban anything connected to firearms' ownership by Americans.

Has such gun laws...like banning fully automatic weapons...ever been appealed to the US Supreme Court? (I'll Bing it...)

The issue is that Trump will not always be the President. Gun control will never stop with the moves of one administration or another...

Let's just make certain we don't elect anyone like Obama/Hillary/Bernie ever again and trust that President Trump will appoint two more supreme court justices who will uphold the constitution.

They are frantically trying to get rid of Trump. Clarence Thomas will be next.

    Re: 2nd Amendment

Did a quick look, not much on the SC and the 2nd. Most recently was the DC case banning handguns and putting restrictions on rifles and shotguns, but the SC sided with the plaintiffs ruling the ban is unconstitutional. Before the recent case(s), the next previous one was back in 1939, something about the states not being constrained by the 2nd only the Federal guvmint is. But the SC ruled against those states, stating states can not pass laws to render Federal law nonexistent. Prior to that you have to go back to the 1800's to find cases re: 2nd Amend, that reached the SC. Of course, this does not include the number of cases the SC might have refused to hear.

I suppose the absence of cases re: the 2nd is due to it's cut and dry nature. It's pretty simple and very clear.
