Kyser's offensive game also increased directly with his weight. He was never a *great* scorer but he became slightly more reliable under the basket after he thickened up a bit. But he was still never an actual big. We have desperately needed a big for years and until Konkol realizes this we will never be able to beat real teams.

We had the same issue when Millsap was here- no other help inside but Paul. Nevada beat us when it counted every time because Millsap was banging against both Nick Fazekas 6-11 235 PF and David Ellis 7-1 225 C. If either of them got into foul trouble they were replaced by a 7-0 235 or 6-8 235 bench player. If Paul got in foul trouble then we had no choice but to jack up more 3-point attempts.

We keep recruiting the same way we have for ~25 years and expect to achieve better results.

We don't have enough guards. I think the biggest hole on our team is at the 2-guard position. When our leading scorer quit in mid-December, we didn't have anybody ready to step up and fill his shoes. Not many teams in college basketball will win getting only 5 points out of the 2-guard position. For most teams, that's the leading scorer's position. We have to find a scorer there who can create and have to sign an immediate impact 2-guard in the late signing period. If not, we will struggle to score even more next season without Boykins. Harris ought to be the most-hated former player in Tech history, at least since I've been following the program. He should've sucked it up and finished out the season. Harris is the main culprit for derailing our season IMO.

Obviously, the other major hole is at the 5. We have no center in our rotation. Sherman dropped out of school. White retired midseason with the heart ailment. Curry is out for the season with a knee injury. McKinley was a bust. Even the limited minutes White played, we got very little production at the 5. We signed a very lightly recruited post player who's really a PF.

We are going to struggle to beat any decent team without a 2 and a 5. Our roster is what it is right now, and there's really nothing our coaching staff can do to fix it until after the season is over.

    Our roster is very flawed.
    - 3 very different point guards
    - shooting guard who doesn't score, point guards trying to play shooting guard
    - sharp-shooting wing
    - undersized PF, athletic stretch 4 with potential, role stretch 4
    - no center

And my guess is Pemberton is gone. No way he returns next year. I have no idea why he's not in the rotation. Will Konkol keep McKinley? Tech is already his 3rd school in 3 years. If he transfers, he'd only have 2 years to play 1. He's in a tough spot. Konkol has to turn this thing around quickly, or he's on the hot seat.

I kinda feel Mckinley should get a shot at more playing time game. We've barely seen him. His first outing I saw was atrocious, but I thought he was alright in the waning minutes of the USM game. Granted, it was just a couple minutes and the game was in hand, he didnt seem as slow as the first few times. And the other times were similar situations at the end of the game against worse opponents.

No on McKinley. I'm sure he's a nice kid but he should be playing NAIA ball and not Div. 1 ball.

How's konkol got his finger in the pie at Albany ?? Couple of years ago, he "stole" Da'shawn Robinson, who had verbally committed to Albany; Now he's brought in McKinley, who redshirted at Albany before going to Northeast C.C.

    Please, no more Albany.

I thought about Kyser as well. He was fun to watch on defense, but unless he was catching alley oops on a fast break, there wasn't much to see on offense.

I'd love to see us have a guy who can bang in the post and box out for rebounds on both ends of the court. Someone we can turn to down the stretch of a game to post up and get us points in the paint.

No 20 win season this year.

Harris bailing was a loss. He definitely was a big part of the team. We would have had more wins this year with Harris.

I know the AD reads this board. For the love God, stop lying about attendance. The only person your fooling is yourself.

It was a crappy season and we had crappy attendance. Stop trying to polish it.

We had Kenneth Cooper for like half a year. Oklahoma st transfer that was here in 2008 or 2009. Ended up transferring again to UAB.

In defense of Konkol, what other team could lose 3 starters and still finish.500 in the league? Probably none and we are doing it with FR and SO for the most part playing against JR and SRs on other teams.

Pemberton could be a slightly improved version of Washington I think if he sticks around but not much more. I hope he does and like his energy but there is no place for him to play this year really with Boykins, Christon, and Washington all ahead of him. He should be patient, he is just a RS FR and his minutes are likely to go up next year.

Re: M. Basketball. Bulldogs Beat on the Boards, Fall in Final Home Game

Our team became MORE FUN TO WATCH as the season went on. More energy, played harder, more camaraderie on the bench, the guys seemed to enjoy playing the game, never quit. Witnessing Archibald and Duruji develop and bring energy, Christon and Powell upped their game, more time for Jean. Bracey easing back in some. Clearly more excitement on the bench. One ref this week repeatedly was waving our bench down. No bench energy before January, exceptionally noticeable vs SFA and U'LL. So pleased to see that enthusiasm.

I really hate to see the season end. Disappointing record, big hole to fill at center, but finished on an upswing. Already ready for next year.
