Just curious, will any of the new Bulldogs be able to participate in the Spring Camp if there not enrolled at LaTech? Wondering about the Ruston High RB...

Brandon Floyd was an early enrollee and is already a LA Tech student. The other two are still on the way.

    EDIT 3/13/18:

Correction- LBer's Brandon Floyd and JUCO DPOY Connor Taylor are both already at Tech for spring practices!

Early enrollees/transfers: Linebacker Connor Taylor and strong safety Brandon Floyd got their jersey numbers, No. 40 for Taylor and No. 31 for Floyd. Both have been taking reps either first or second at their respective positions.

    Re: Spring Practice

Kam McKnight has moved (at least temporarily) to RB. In HS Kam was a very tough RB to tackle per his videos. Excellent decision coaches!!!!

On the move: Bulldog head coach Skip Holtz and running backs coach Tony Ball has to replace two 1,000-yard rushers in Boston Scott and Jarred Craft and right now, they’re giving rising senior Kam McKnight a good look in the backfield. McKnight is huge back there at 6-foot-2, 232 pounds, but he played the position at East Feliciana High School and Holtz has said he likes what he’s seen.

Speaking of Connor Taylor. He has made his presence very well known in practice! He even got Amik fired up on this one on one drill!

It was noted that Amit was getting some time as a possible kick off and punt return guy for the BULLDOGS as well!

I wouldn't mind so much for KO returns. He would have more time to set up blocking and pick his path. Veal does a pretty decent job at punt returns.

Many more injuries on KO than punt returns.

I think the NCAA is trying to eliminate KO returns. Didn't I read that starting next season you can fair catch kickoffs anywhere inside the 25 and get it on the 25, or did I dream that?

It's one rule that will be discussed. http://www.latechbbb.com/forum/showt...t-in-Touchback
    http://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-p...acks-kickoffs/
The NCAA Football Rules Committee on Friday proposed altering the game’s kickoff rules to allow the receiving team to fair catch the kick inside the 25-yard line and have it result in a touchback.

The committee made the proposal to address player safety on the kickoff and to address tactics that attempt to pin the receiving team close to its goal line. All other aspects of the kickoff play will remain the same.
    Other proposed changes:
    - ban blocks below the waist > 5 yards past line of scrimmage
    - pace of play - 40 second play clock after a TD (for XP). Also 40 second play clock after KO for 1st down.
    - The addition of a 10-second runoff was approved when instant replay overturns the ruling on the field inside of one minute in either half and the correct ruling would not have stopped the game clock.
    - The committee approved the continuation of a collaborative instant-replay decision-making model that is not limited to the press box in the stadium.
    - Leaping rules on field goals and extra points were adjusted to mirror similar rules dealing with leaping the shield on punting plays. It is illegal to leap over the frame of the body of an opponent.
    - On successful field goals, penalty enforcement will be the same as on made extra points. Namely, all personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct fouls by the defending team will have the option to be enforced on the ensuing kickoff.
