I didn't envision Tech being the 10th seed before the season started.
We are 16-15. Would be nice to get at least this one win to assure a winning season. But, I kind of think this bunch is staring at 16-16.
Give Konkol a 5-year extension before some big P5 swoops in and hires him away! Come one TMAC and Guice (who gets it) .
I think there is some cause for concern, but also believe there was a lot of bad luck that contributed to this down year. Hoping for a better year next year.
That's true. Prior to this year Konkol won back to back CUSA championships and had us in the Sweet 16 in the Big Dance. Yeah, let's give him a pass for a "down" year.
Home attendance being down hits us the hardest. No mention of that from our AD yesterday in the two minute excuse speech he gave during the baseball game. Why? Because according to him, home attendance is not down. We have a problem so lets just ignore it for a couple of years before we address it.
WKU making a huge comeback- at least 11 straight points to cut it to 1 with less than 20 to go with ball
Marshall gets rebound with 7 secs
Marshall incorporated a certain "style" they wanted to perfect a few years back. It's worked for them. Mike White also had a definitive style. Konkol either has to recruit better than anybody in conference or establish his own brand. I liked how we played in the tournament. I thought we lacked identity throughout the season. I don't think we can attribute it to defections.
Have you considered those Dogs?
I agree with the identity thing. We were told 3 years ago that we would continue to be an uptempo/pressure team. By and large that hasn’t happened. Several times this year we refused to press until we were way down. Press worked but were unable to overcome large deficits.
We competed well in the tourney because we had passion that was created by a consistent defensive effort. I still have major concerns with this staff, but hopefully they can turn it around.
Thing is, I don't really care what style he incorporates. He can play an ugly, grinding halfcourt brand of basketball if he wants. I used to love to watch South Alabama under Musselman (?). They forced teams to deal with a deliberate grinding offense and hectic physicality on defense. No flow or rhythm. Very difficult to play against.
Have you considered those Dogs?
I agree with yall on the identity thing and expressed that early on.
