Dawgs win first game of the Saturday double header 6-4.
WTG Diamond Dawgs! Have won the weekend series, awesome. Now....get out the brooms.
Diamond Dogs @LATechBSB
The inning ends on a lineout to left, but Tech tacks on another and leads 6-3. Kyle Griffen will enter in relief of Bailey to start the seventh.
How bout them Dawgs!!!!!!
And on a side note (aside from the Frisco weekend) this was the best umpiring group of the season. They were very consistent with their calls, there were no "WTH? mystery calls" (UL cough Laf cough umps). Please can we rent these 3 C-USA guys a place to stay somewhere in N. Louisiana and they can travel with our team.
The guy calling behind home plate today was consistently bad all weekend. Missed bang-bang play at first last night and missed call at home today. His strike zone today was not the same for us as for Rice...until we started booing him after what should have been strike three on Proctor. The other two guys were good.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
The Louisiana Tech baseball team secured a 6-4 win in game one, and a 7-3 triumph in game two in a Saturday twin bill over the Rice Owls. The Bulldogs clinched a series sweep with the pair of victories in front of a crowd of 2,006 from J.C. Love Field.

WOW!!
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Not depending on umps for wins is great. Our other sports could take note. Overcome the bad calls and win anyway! We were the better team this weekend. We had something like 35 hits, several stolen bases, and minimal errors. Good team wins.
Yes, our hitting was WORLDS better in this series than it has been. We're still leaving too many men on base, but we are definitely starting to hit the ball in a "hitters ballpark".
