Anna MacLeod is gone.
Anna MacLeod is gone.
This one shocks me......... I know she could hit the three, but her defense was underrated - she was awesome on that side of the ball! I hope we blocked her home town and Rice from getting her. They are stocking up with transfers........ This opens up another spot for us, though.
I certainly wish Anna well in her next endeavors. When Tyler and his staff signed her they envisioned her as having Taylor Stahly type consistency from 3 (which she might still develop). However, I will miss watching her continued development on the defensive end. She was getting much better in that area (her length at the top of the zone will be missed).
Charge your phone, Anna!
In other news.... Michelle Clark-Heard leaving Western Kentucky to become head coach of University of Cincinnati. Western Kentucky Associate Head Coach Greg Collins to be promoted to Head Coach of the Lady Hilltoppers.
Nothing new at this time. Langley was rumored to be a candidate for the Virginia Job. I am sure Virginia is not going to move on anyone until Dawn Staley tells them there is no chance. Ole Miss may contact Langley now that Clark (who was also rumored to be a leading candidate at Ole Miss) is unavailable.
Sorry to hear McLeod has moved on!
I always enjoyed her efforts on the court.. she always gave it her best!
We are 25 yrs removed from being relevant. The best we can hope for at this point is to climb our way back to competing for a CUSA title & we are at least 2 good recruiting classes away from being even close. Once we can routinely compete for conference titles then I think it’s possible to make the next step to breaking into the top 20. Currently we are a LONG ways from being a top 20 caliber program based solely on talent. And we all know there’s a huge gap between the top 5 programs nationally and the 6-20. So it’s not likely we’ll ever see the “good ole days” revived. Remember the past we speak of is now the distant past & most of the better recruits don’t even consider the Lady Techsters relevant. Sad but true.
