Let's get that run back.
Let's get that run back.
Whew!
A win is a win. I'll take it.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
The Louisiana Tech baseball team held off a late-charging UAB squad, and took a 7-6 victory on Saturday afternoon from Regions Field.

The Dawgs had more hits in the top of the 1st inning than they had in the entire game Friday night. Tech never trailed in this game either. The butt chewing coach Burroughs gave the team after last night's "effort" inspired some offensive production today.
Way to go Dawgs, alone atop the CUSA standings again!
Still leaving pitchers in too long.
He says he has confidence in the bullpen, but his in-game decisions tell otherwise. Braxton has turned into his go-to guy in tough situations. Surprised we didn't see Griffen come in to face the lefty before bringing in Braxton.
Still getting picked off on multiple occasions (got lucky a couple times). Still hit and running into DPs. Still getting caught stealing. Still too many outs given away on the base paths.
I'll always take the win, but I can't stand watching us run ourselves out of innings. We have to lead the country in getting picked off. Never seen anything like it.
The good news is we aren't bunting nearly as much as we tried earlier in the season. Still too many hit-and-runs though. In the postgame, Burroughs even admits to thankfully talking himself out of some hit-and-runs that end up resulting in big RBI hits.

Confidence in his bullpen would mean having them warm up right? He doesn't have his bullpen throwing until our starters get in trouble. Yesterday we didn't have anybody throwing at the end of 6th. In the 7th when he was getting shelled for 3 runs on 4 hits our HC never thought about bringing in relief. He commented that UAB had "seen him 4 times". Really? Great math skills.
We almost lost the game yesterday and the loss would not have been on the pitching, it would have been on the HC.
