BVDV came up to me at Ralph & Kacoo's, spoke to me and my infant son.
We can certainly do better than both of them. Heck, Mizzou's OC would be better.

Actually, Bruce wasn't hired as AD from a P5 school. He was hired as Associate AD to run the department from an administrative standpoint while Dooley was AD. Bruce could not get an AD's job while he as an Associate AD at Missouri because he had some of the same problems at Iowa State as AD that he had at Tech.
And for all the issues Bruce had at Tech, he was largely responsible for this....the award given for the most outstanding athletic department in collegiate sports. During Bruce's tenure Tech also finished 3rd in the Excellence in Management Cup, which recognized the most efficient athletic departments in the country.

RUSTON - The Louisiana Tech Athletic Department continues to receive national recognition as it was named the winner of the 2010 Turnkey PRISM Awards on Wednesday by the University of Massachusetts Amherst Sport Management Program.
This is the fifth year that the PRISM Awards have been presented at the collegiate level. The PRISM Awards (Professionalism, Results and Innovation in Sport Management) recognizes colleges for managerial excellence across four areas: marketing/branding; fan development; community relations; and customer/client service.
"Louisiana Tech is extremely honored and pleased to be chosen as the recipient of the 2010 PRISM Award," said Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Bruce Van De Velde. "We are grateful to the University of Massachusetts and its nationally recognized Sports Management Program for this outstanding achievement.
"The key components of the PRISM Award are priorities of our strategic plan and directly relate to the success and advancement of our athletic department. This award is a result of a great deal of hard work from a very talented and creative administrative staff, and I want to congratulate them for their dedication and the progress their collective efforts have made in our success."
Louisiana Tech joined the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, who were the professional franchise winner of this year's award.

Don't you think they are working together on these things? Of course, they are!
Back to the thread, I pulled up Marco's press conference today online from the Beaumont paper and he did well. I didn't realize Lamar has the second highest athletic budget in Southland, think it was close to 17mil.
Gooddawg have you ever interacted with TMac?
Yes revf frequently.
Buskirk did most of the legwork on football scheduling for BVD and his record was not as stellar as many of you seem to remember. Grambling took us to the cleaners, he canceled the best series he agreed to with BYU and turned down numerous good opportunities he could have had including a home game with TCU and at least one other home and home I knew about.
