Can't blame it all on the coach, but getting your catcher thrown out caught stealing on another failed hit-and-run can be blamed on the coach. Sac bunting your best hitter can also be blamed on the coach.

The coach had two of his best OB% buys riding the pine in hope of those replacing them by guys touching the ball. They didn't even take the bat off their shoulder.

Then the coach allowed our slowest player to get tagged out running to 2nd. HORRIBLE call by the coach.

Would it be too late to pick up a Tuesday/Wednesday matchup against Dallas Baptist or Sam Houston State? I don’t know many other opponents with good RPI would go grab this late. Wichita State would be great but seems too far.

The big boys “near” would include: Texas Tech, Texas, Vandy, Ole Miss, A&M, and Arkansas. I don’t know if we would be on that radar.

I totally agree with scheduling Grambling only once if at all. But once the home-and-home was scheduled, Tech obligated itself to play both games. There won't be any replacement opponent if the proposed reschedule date doesn't work out.

The only thing I need to understand about the selection process this year is that if Tech doesn't win the tournament in Biloxi, it won't be in the postseason. And as DFM said, playing or not playing a midweek game at Grambling won't make a bit of difference.

Had we played the Grambling game, I'm not sure how much pitching we would even have left to finish this series if we don't get a quality start tomorrow. Our bullpen has already had to throw more innings this weekend than any other.

We are squarely on the at-large bubble, likely on the wrong side, just like last year. But you talk like we are hopeless. This isn't basketball. C-USA is down, but it's been a multi-bid league every year.

At this point, we'll probably have to win tomorrow, win at LSU, sweep ULL (maybe could get by taking 1 of 2), and take 2 of 3 at USM to get an at-large bid. Improbable but still possible.

If we replace Grambling with a Top 50 opponent, we can probably handle another loss in one of those above games and still get in. The UALR loss was killer.

Our head coach said the Grambling game will not be replaced at the same time he mentioned the proposed makeup date. And that was before the UTSA series even started.

Tech's current WarrenNolan.com predicted RPI of 56 is based on going into the tournament 41-15 (18-5 starting Sunday). That might not be good enough to get an at-large even losing in the tournament final with a win over both FAU and USM in the tournament. When you look at the predicted RPIs for teams from other conferences, I just don't see a way for C-USA to get 2 at-larges unless they are for FAU and USM.

I think they can if they take care of mid week games and business on the weekend, only way we face FAU is in the tourney, just don’t need an outlier like Rice last year winning the tourney...

FAU still has 2 with #34 FGCU and 2 with #64 UCF

USM still has #7 Ole Miss, #46 South Alabama and #129 Tulane

FAU and USM have already played with So Miss taking 2 of 3

Rice is the wild card do we want them to take 2/3 from FAU an raise their RPI?

Need them to beat #44 Sam Houston and beat Houston and then take care of business vs Middle, Char, UAB and FIU
