knowing our history against usm that is a definitely possibility. Seriously. Just watched the entire game. He stands in the pocket but rarely had zipon the ball. He throws really well to his left. Most were screens.

He did take one really good hit late in the game.

Here is a video clip of Jack Abraham's INT pass that sealed the win for ULM.

I thought J'Mar had possibly his best game ever against Southern U. He stepped up into the pocket perfectly all night. He also had good zip on most of his passes.

I have always thought it was EXTREMELY STUPID for us to let our #2 and #3 backup QB's transfer out within a few days of each other, especially considering how unreliable J'Mar was last year. And, especially when one of the two backups is already turning out to be a pretty good QB in CUSA.

As an employer myself, I'm perfectly aware of the extremely high cost associated with turnover. Finding good talent, recruiting it, and getting that talent hired, trained and on-boarded is very expensive. When you've done it as much as I have, you'll eventually find yourself saying, "Wow. This was no fun. Maybe we need to do a better job of holding on to our employees. Let's examine this, and see if there's something WE can do better to prevent the turnover in the first place."

If you are not a professional hiring manager, this is probably nothing more than jiberish to you.
While you continue to pump up Jack Abraham, an undersized QB who ran away from competition at Louisiana Tech and lost to ULM tonight, we currently have a backup QB who is already better than Abraham. Aaron Allen can PLAY! I'm curious if the plan is to roll the dice with him in four games to get some experience and still allow him to redshirt, or if he has beat out Westin Elliott as the backup QB already.

Why didn’t Westin get any PT? Or did I miss it?

Holtz clearly addressed this in his post game commentary. "Elliott is our #2 QB. If J'Mar gets hurt Elliott will replace him. There is no 'QB controversy' or anything like that. We are picking which games to play guys we might redshirt due to the new NCAA rule allowing players to play in 4 games and still redshirt".

Thanks. Makes sense. I'm a proponent of young guys, especially QBs, redshirting when they have veterans ahead of them. I hope Allen redshirts this year. But I also think he's better than Elliott already, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's the backup to J'Mar next season.

IMO, the concern is not how good or bad Abraham is, it is how bad USM is. They continue to own COYHCSH.

Well, we've certainly lost our share of 1-pt games. Right?

Regarding our QB's, I thought Aaron Allen looked pretty good. I was glad he got to play in 2 full series'. He'll red shirt, but he'll play in 3 more games this year where he won't get killed. The SU game was a good ice breaker for him.

Re: Abraham doing well in Hattiesburg

After I heard that 48 pts was the most ever scored by the TB Bucs in a game, I looked up the Saints' records. The Saints highest is 52, which they did three times, and also scored 51 three times. One of those 51 pointers was in 1969 vs. the old St. Louis Cardinals. Saints won 51-42, thanks to three Tom Dempsey FGs being the difference. Billy Kilmer was the Saints' QB and he threw for 400 yards and had 5 TD passes that day. At that time, in 1969, it was one of the most productive days for an NFL QB in history. So, go ahead and make fun of old Kilmer...

Triva Quiz: Who was the Cardinals' QB, who also enjoyed a great day.

BTW the Saints had 10 possessions. They scored on 9 of 'em, 6 TDs, 3 FGs. The only one they didn't score on was the last one, when Kilmer took a knee to run out the clock.
