Abraham doing well in Hattiesburg

Unless Abraham has grown 2-3 inches and gained 50 lbs I don't really think we have much to worry about. He is tiny and someone I believe could show out in practice but struggle when the defense is focused on stopping him. We shall soon see apparently. I never saw anything in practice that led me to believe we would miss him after he transferred or wish he had stayed. Granted, I did not expect him to wind up in CUSA.

A few interesting implications of this analysis (for me). First, they rated J'Mar above Griggs (Southern Miss projected starter). Next, they don't even mention Jack Abraham--instead listing Howard as the contender for the position. Abraham would (at least) be the 2nd team mention had he stayed in Ruston. There is a likely possibility he won't be given a chance to play in Hattiesburg. Might shoulda stayed put?

Abraham doesn't impress me. He has the benefit of a better offensive coaching staff, and that gives him an opportunity to get better results. But talent-wise, and in athleticism, there's nothing there. He's not what we need at Tech, and so is not a big loss. Of course, Smith is not what we need at Tech either.

you are wrong. Abraham would not be second string at tech. Usm does some little shuttle pass that goes for avtd and score. He flicked the ball. Most of his long passes were thrown up for grabs. They throw a lot of bubble screens that nlu started blowing up. He threw two other passes to a rb out of the back field for nice gains. He fumbled the ball away 3 times and threw 2 ints. He is not a run threat. Usm was totally unimpressive. Besides a little speed a wr they have nothing else.

Yep....I could go on and on pointing out the silly, pathetic, and hyper-critical posts aimed at Jack Abraham by lame LA Tech fans. But there's no need. These critics --just like me-- saw JA get his vengeance today. The real message here is, we should hire a coach that is not so hardheaded with his QB choice, that he won't consider other options. Hire a coach with an open mind next time.

While you continue to pump up Jack Abraham, an undersized QB who ran away from competition at Louisiana Tech and lost to ULM tonight, we currently have a backup QB who is already better than Abraham. Aaron Allen can PLAY! I'm curious if the plan is to roll the dice with him in four games to get some experience and still allow him to redshirt, or if he has beat out Westin Elliott as the backup QB already.
