With this win, Burroughs won his 60th game, now 60-30 in 1+ years now as HC, not bad for a guy who doesn't know what he is doing according to some of you!
WTG Dawgs!!
He makes the same mistakes in games like yesterday (great offensive production) as he makes when we lack offense. He has been consistently bad at running bases all year. His poor decisions cost us a couple of base runners on Saturday. Why were you not here defending him after that game.
Rather than blindly brag on somebody because you like the person dispute the fact presented over and over. It's like with our AD. You love the guy for some reason. That's fine, but you can't debate his faults like horrible negotiation skills in scheduling.
All any fan wants if for the coach or AD to do their job and earn the large salaries they are being paid. BTW our baseball coaches job is to get us in a regional. He failed last year. He is being paid to get us in one this year. I don't care about his overall record.
Burroughs' next trip the regionals, will be his first as a HC. So, maybe he should actually accomplish something before his praises are sung.
Lol. He certainly gets credit for his nice record, but you can put your head in the sand if you want.
You realize last year he inherited a championship-caliber tournament team, didn't contend for the conference title, nor made the NCAA Tournament?
This year you realize we are winning with the #1 ERA in the nation, right? We are overachieving on the mound, average on offense, average on defense, and worst in the country running the bases. Our pitching has been so dominant it's been able to overcome most of our coaching blunders.
He was handed Goff's successful blueprint of finding jucos who can smash in our little park but is trying to turn us into some 1980s west coast big ballpark small ball club with reckless base running.
But as long as you have elite pitching, you can post a solid winning percentage no matter what your offensive philosophy is. Let's hope our pitching holds up.
And the stats back us up as to how horrible Burroughs' offensive philosophy is.
Offensively, Tech ranks:
- 60th OBP
- 81st SLG
- 95th AVG
We rank in the Top 100 in every single offensive category except doubles...
Yet we rank 144th in scoring runs.
Ask yourself why the big disparity between all our offensive stats and how few runs we score.

Just giving you guys a hard time, all in good fun!
LB did not inherit Goff's championship team, he inherited his championship lineup minus several of our best pitchers, which is what let us down last year.
