Matt was not "on" from the get-go last night. Burroughs said as much after the game. Moving to relief might be just the thing but he's not cutting it as a starter anymore. And we have other pitchers who deserve a shot.

Tough to go from a true bulldog like Nate Harris to anything else. He would pitch the day after a 50 pitch outing on no rest if asked. He is fresh enough in our minds that he tends to be our reference point. Not saying we don’t need to shake things up. Just my thoughts.
Guess it's official that Tech has conceded next weekend's series in Hattiesburg. Dave just said USM has already clinched the regular season C-USA championship.
USM is actually the first team to have clinched a spot in the C-USA Tournament. Tech can clinch its spot by winning today since it holds tiebreakers over both Rice and WKU as those teams are tied for 8th starting today both 6 games behind Tech.
Yeah Dave said USM has clinched regular season title so I had to get the board to gain understanding. ??? 2 1/2 game lead with 6 left had me confused
but it appears he meant clinched a tourney birth.
Dave knows there ain’t no way we will beat Southern Miss. We might not beat Grambling.
He mispoke or someone passed along incorrect info
USM, FAU, and Tech have all clinched spots in Biloxi now. FAU and Tech are both 6 games ahead of Rice with 6 to play and have tiebreakers over Rice.
Tech's RPI numbers are now at 62 current and 71 predicted as I post this.
"Down the stretch" is a horseracing phrase. So is "he backed up." That's the expression used when a horse is leading, or is on the lead, at the top of the stretch, and runs out of gas. He slows so much the field flies past him and it looks like he's going in reverse.
Well...that's Tech baseball. Sitting right there, in striking distance, "on the lead" and we have "backed up."
It's "go time" Dawgs!
Tech gets +12 RPI points with the Grambling win. RPI up to 60 and predicted RPI up to 70.
Watching some of Burroughs decisions I get the impression that he sometimes coaches with the ‘he’s due’ mentality. If he starts Miller Friday that will have to be his reason why because such a decision can’t be based on his recent performance. The same could be said for Huddleston hitting clean-up again against Grambling because ‘he’s due’ not because he earned it.
